I wipe it down (after it cools off, and before covering it) after every ride, and usually hit it with some detailer wax- dirt on a streetbike has always annoyed me, and my bikes are nearly always clean (at least in photos).

I'm not that compulsive about too many things, but my bikes generally look good (I'm also that way re: maintenence).

I ride mine like I stole it for month then drop it off at the Harley shop for mods or service and it comes back clean ready for another month.
Really not much point trying to keep them clean

Agree. I've cleaned mine once a week recently simply because of the rain and shit getting in the chain, but once month otherwise is fine unless the chain needs it. I use a pressure wash which some frown at but FFS, I just ride the damn thing.
