If I still lived on the farm I would probably have bought another Vigo, but they're not suited to city driving.

Kurgen, I'm pretty sure the Kenwwod head unit in the XV is this:

    kenwood dnx5310btnav

You can google the manuals, YouTube etc.

Cheers Bung, I'll read it later when my hangover does a runner.

The strange thing is I've paired the phone calls via BT with ease.

After a quick read through it seems that the DNX5310BT model which I have cannot do BT audio, bollocks!

Can someone read the page I've linked to verify this please, before I go buy a new system.

Page 56 explains it. Seems only the ddx / dnx 7 series can stream audio. Not the dnx 5 series.

Why don't you just plug your audio player in to the USB port? Pretty sure there is a port in the back so you can have it hidden more and not just have to plug into the front.

You could probably do a good deal with a car audio shop on your new unit though and get the dnx 7 series.

Thinking about it some more now my coffee has kicked in I don't really get audio streaming via bt. You will still need to plug in to charge your device every time as bt sucks up battery life and then you would need to control it via the device as well? Via USB it charges and you control it via the bigger screen head unit and steering wheel controls so much better? The only thing it looks untidy having a cable plugged into the front but like I said I am pretty sure there is an input in the rear so you can fit a USB plug in the arm rest console or something like that out of the way.

For me I have an iPod always connected left in the car and my phone in my pocket which pairs when in range.

In my Fortuna the radio linked via BT and in my Vigo I needed an auxiliary lead. It seems neither of these work in the Scooby Doo.

I'm hoping to get a good trade in at the Kenwood dealer.

Anyone know where in Pattaya sell Kenwoods?

Yes I want to stream internet radio. I like listening to LBC to remind me why I left the UK.

Well, I just read the thread about how to post photos from an ipad using imgur.....bollocks.

I picked up the car today, heading the Mae Hong Son tomorrow with a mate to give her a good run.

    Happy days.

It's a great motor to drive, I really do love it.

I'm changing out the Kenwood tomorrow for an iPhone compatible one.

    I'm also getting it serviced.

It already has 850k's on the clock since Friday pm!

I'm doing a drive up to Jurassic Park on Friday which will be fun.
I would post pictures but life's too short.

I just got back from a run to Mae Hong Son from Chiang Mai, 600 k's. It went great, very impressed how it handled the mountains and some crap roads, paddle shifters come in handy for engine braking, itll hold a low gear going down hill by leaving it full auto and just hitting the paddles. nice. I'm getting the first service tomorrow.

I had a great drive through the Kabinburi mountains yesterday. It's a great car and I'm glad I bought it.

Kurgen, can you give me the details on your new head unit? How much was it to change over? I was hoping there was a USB port on the rear of the unit so I could have a discreet USB plug for my iPod but there is none. I am not liking having to use the front connection and have the cable hanging out of it constantly.

Other than that, I just hit 1000 great kilometres in it. Very happy and am always looking for an excuse to go for a drive. I've had two Thai friends, both with Accords who checked it out and they said they would prefer the XV. Although personally I think the Acccord is a cut above it, its just they liked what it offers.

Fuk me, you 2 are boring... That must be one of the most boring chats I've ever read through, you've taken about 20 minutues out of my life (maybe more due to the stress...).

I thought about this car too because not much of value here. I still reckon the Ranger 2.2 hi-rider (or whatever) at 800 odd k is a good buy, in orange. These Subarururururs are very nice though, and decent value for Thailand. But: 1) I'm not here much at the moment; 2) The missus really shouldn't be let loose in a bigger vehicle.

    Cycling should be banned!!!

I changed it out for the Kenwood DDX7031BT.

I can now listen to internet radio.

The USB port is in the glove box. Like you , I wasn't keen on the thumb drive hanging out at the front.

They pretty much just swapped the units out apart from a lead that as needed for the glove box.

Even though I went for a set without sat nav I still got raped over the price but I was in a hurry and they traded the old one in.

Just been googling exhausts for the XV and it turns out the dual tip muffler from the BRZ is a straight fit apparently for the 5 door impreza which is the same as the XV. The BRZ has just been released here so will have a look when they get one in the showroom. As it is there are quite a few options for exhausts with complete stainless systems with headers but I don't want a lot of noise. The BRZ muffler is pretty quiet and looks nice and may not be too expensive, especially if I find one wrecked.

I could probably find an ehaust shop to fab something up cheaply as well to give a bit of a note but with the CVT box it may sound stupid as when you take off it is a bit like a car accelerating with massive clutch slip, just constant revs.

The exhaust tip is hidden on the XV
