The only mods I made to it were adding Kerker headers and a Shoei faring. I wound up selling it to a guy 15 years later who built choppers since he said they were great for customizing.
Yep those early Honda's where great. I got to ride a brand new 1981 cb-900f for a while, it was the first really powerfull bike I rode. You really had to hang on when you openened it up! It was kinda scary fast. Like the early zx10 was scary fast too.

A quick update as some thick Ocker basted asked me how the bike is going.

    In a word - lovely.

Too much rain around at the moment though as I don't like washing the bike all the time. Up to about 800kms and will be thinking about getting it serviced soon.

The Midget took the truck to the Ford retard today and I followed on the bike so we could leave it with them. As soon as I pulled up a young chap asked if he could take some photos of it and was very complementary. He thought they were more expensive than 200k but has to wait until he's paid more off on his Fiesta before he can think about getting a bike. Sorry Ratchaburi, I didn't get his number for you

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was invited to meet one of the designers of the CB500 range and a team of mechanics gave the bike a once over about 3 weeks ago.

A very nice chap he was and I was asked about my experiences with the bike and what I felt could be improved. The mechanics didn't spend that long on my bike, but did mention that my oil was a bit high (at the MAX line) rather than between the MAX & MIN which is where it should be. I said that it was under the MIN line when I got it hence I topped it up.

Strangely, they spent about 3 hours with some bit of fanny and her bike. Can't think why I didn't get the same level of service.

We all know your a bit of a girl, but have you look in the mirror lately.
It good to see you out and about on yu bike Marmite.
I was told when I had the new piston put in to keep the oil level down below the full level.

^ Well, MAX is the best setting on my guitar amp, so I assumed the same would be true for my bike.

My amp is sold as a 40 watter, but there's a knob on the top where you can turn up the power and it apparently is capable of delivering 60 watts. (that's good value). On the other hand, you can turn it down to 5 watts if you want, but who wants to do that.

Mine is only 5 watts, but is the best sounding amp I've ever had.
