Some sound advice in this thread, but maybe too much to take in all at once for an inexperienced driver.

My eldest daughter is a new driver in the UK, so I passed on the words my instructor told me many moons ago - that everyone else on the road is nuts and they're all out to get you, probably even more true in Thailand than UK in fact.

Still won't stop you worrying every time she ventures out though!

Make sure you physically demonstrate the blind spot to her.

    Lol, that might work.
My Missus refused to believe it was there until I demonstrated.

    Rather funny.
I just picked up the mail and there was my son`s driving license.

What I have told him is this:

Drive defensively, keep your distance to vehicles in front of you, don`t do speeding, pay attention to bicycles and motorcycles when you take a turn.
And realize that although you now have the driving license you are still an inexperienced driver.

I let him use the car every day to school in order to gain experience as fast as possible.

    Good advice for sure.

I'd add if possible a concept of defensive driving.
