The build is out there on the web. Telling porkies about the V24 though, which would just turn the car into a pretzel if you floored it.
He put a jag 420 in it, while keeping the original brakes and diff. Must be driven very carefully I suspect..

Actually re-reading the thread he is talking about two separate cars/builds: the (previously completed) one he has posted the pics of; and a current/on-going 3xV8 project

It would be fairly easy to stretch the frame, limo guys do that so there is no reason not to build a roadster out of a saloon chassis etc. I am sure coachbuilders of old did that.

My niggle is the three SU's on a V8. Two I could understand, even 4 but three? Why only three what do the other 2 engines use? Or is it one carburetor per engine with very long plumbing, which would seem insufficient? The biggest common SU is 2" and an E-type uses three. So how can three V8's run on three of those? Even three special 3' unit would be too small.

If one was building a car with three engines wouldn't one want to emphasis the fact by showing three sets of inlets?

Hey I've been wrong before......so lets see.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

Still doesn't prove it's not all bollocks.

True - but I'm going to say it's not because I want it to be true!

As I mentioned earlier, there's something marvellously mental about someone willing and able to build a V24 powered car. I salute that sort of craziness.

Thought I had better join and explain what I am doing. Some of you may have seen my car on ebay 2 years ago.Anyway after a bit of thinking, I decided to take the plunge and buy it. Due to a faulty engine it was in a barn for 64 years, and the body was pretty horrible. So, I decided to remove the body and make the chassis into my idea of a Le Mans tourer.

The mechanical side is Jaguar 420G engine and auto boc driving through a Hone-O-Drive at 43% to give a final ratio od 30mph per 1000 revs.
It also gives me 6 forward speeds / gears. When I get home to the UK ( on holiday in Thailand at the moment ) will be able to post photos of rear air shocks that work with original E20 shocks.
The body is mounted on 16 robber silent blocks, so I am hoping for a smooth ride.

Maybe if the person had of posted more detail the replies would have different. Based on the information provided at that time I still stand by comments, Obviously now that more information has been provided kudo's to the guy but I'll not be eating any fucking pie.

It is fun doing stuff like this. I used to do the same with/to Brisca F2 cars.

I wish I could do stuff like this. Unfortunately I lack the time, tools and. most importantly, know-how.

Good God, didn't realise a couple of cars were gonna stir up so much flack. Anyway, while you lot enjoy the sun, I'm off to my garage to made 3 sets of engine mountings.
PS, the original post was just to say I will probably be looking for an interesting car, either working or maybe fit for my idea of a rebuild into something interesting. The Daimler and I hope the V24 are gonna be ready for September to ship to the USA to do Route 66 and others. Mind you, either or both would cause a bit of interest in the Far East, I guess.

You can pretty much forget about bringing anything to LOS.
BiB will swipe it or nail you to the wall once it's off the boat.

With some groundwork though, you could build something here, theres no shortage of bits and pieces..

Don't stress it, plenty here will be interested in what you're doing.

    Two questions:

    1) Where will you be basing yourself in Thailand?

    2) Are you open/available to do projects for others?

Will be floating around Thailand and probably Vietnam - want to do the same run as they did on Top Gear a while back.

Too busy to do stuff for other people.

Have a few silly thoughts running through the grey matter.

Was thinking about redesigning the TukTuk, as its crap as is.

Like so many others, was thinking about bar / club somewhere.

Maybe buy an abode sometime, but thats probably at least 2 years away.

Just keeping eyes and options open really.

There's a German guy in Thailand who is doing something similar to you.
Making his own bodywork to suit his needs.
Not quite to my likely, I prefer your work.

All you need to do is ASK. 100% of the guys here will chase you away from this kind of thinking and this IS the TRUTH. Come here and build some FANTASTIC cars from what is ALREADY here is the way. Unless you have TONS of money to THROW away, forget about bringing ANYTHING here as far as a FULL ON CAR. If the Thai guys want it, you'll NEVER see it.

I know people that have gone to auctions and have been TOLD to stop bidding.

    UP TO YOU.

Ex girlfriend in Nakon Sawan was on about opening a internet shop, but they are dying out with laptops etc. I told her that after a bit of research of the age etc of the population in a 40 mile radius, I would only think about putting money into a kids skateboard / roller park. Might still be an idea.....
