Is there any cars that are fun, can be bought for a reasonable price here in LOS?

    Damn good question.

Not as far as I know- even a girly MX-5 is well over 2mil (2.64mil, actually- are they kidding?)- if you're a car or bike guy (which we both are) finding acceptable vehicles is always going to be a pricey endeavor in LOS.

Imaginary? The trailer is ordered, and the new bike will be ordered soon (though I have 2 others to tide me over)- maybe I can fit the tow hook to the stick up your ass and see if it's not wedged in there too tightly to be pulled out.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

We will have to disagree then. I assumed we were talking about a mass produced sports car for sale to the general public, not a car bought for track racing. A track may prove the race credibility of a vehicle but how many people will buy it for daily use as a commuter. Seven Litres and 5/600 horsepower is rather wasteful in a country trying to be less dependent on oil based products don't you think?
They could have made a very quick and effective sports car with a third of the power and engine size. All a bit pointless in a mass production car that will rarely if ever reach it's potential on public roads.

You brought it up, not me. I mentioned it on other (relevant) threads, but you're the one who brought it up here. YES- if I could get that Vette for 1.6 mil baht, I would order one- so would 50 other guys on TD- I guess we all smell terrific.

I think you are an ass, but I'm not particularly interested- thanks, though.

Man, what happened to you? You used to be a decent poster- that sure ended with your current incarnation.

Chas, so what? No sports cars are about practicality- there are plenty of other cars out there to choose from, but only a select few in this class. Plenty of testers have mentioned how docile the Vette is around town. It's fine on crowded streets, and does great at the track- I wouldn't consider it as an 'only' car, and that's not its intended purpose (though more than a few people will actually use it as a commuter- that wouldn't work for me personally, but everyone is different- few people use a Ferrari or Lamborghini as a commuter either). Go buy a Prius if it makes you happy, but that's nowhere near the point.

The bottom line is that race track lap times are an extremely valid and telling basis for comparison when it comes to the cars mentioned in this thread.

Again, you didn't answer the direct question I asked, while I responded to what you posted both times.

^ no one has been stupid enough to buy it.... let me know when the ad gets taken down and take a picture of it being fixed in the garage...... Just because it's for sale doesn't mean it will get sold.....and this is Thailand where in general terms the more money people have the stupider they are. Must need a billionaire to be as stupid to buy one of these....and he's in exile...

Fondles, you need to buy that Vette and run pseudolus over with it- he won't accept anything less as proof.

I've seen an Aventador for sale at the Paragon, but I've never seen one on the street- does that mean no one owns one in LOS?

So we can attach them to the electrodes at the base of your neck and give you a recharge?

    Nope - to jump start it as the battery and alternator will break in about a week. You will also need a lot of this;

The appalling trim will fall off when the car goes over a pebble, so if you are planning on hitting me with it, everything will be scattered on the floor. Driver will be dead of course because they manage a 1 star safety rating with most of their cars which technically means you are safer in a shopping trolly.

Ahh so they are not needed to start it just yet, maybe in the future when like all cars components eventually fail.

Your doing good with your crystal ball for a vehicle that does not exist in Thailand.

While th Ring and Laguna Seca have corners they also have lots of fast straights. If the other cars don't have 600bhp and 7litres then it will make a huge difference especially considering the vette has excellent torqe and therefore bags of low end power. Doesn't guarantee it can corner.
As I said before, the track stuff is nice window dressing. As far as sales go it still has to work in the real world because that's where most of them will end up, whether it's first second or third in the family garage.

    What else did I miss?

I simply said I have never seen on in a range of countries I have lived and worked. For not having seen one I was called a clueless dumb fuck. Therefore, I simply asked for him to post a picture of the one he will see tomorrow as there are so many all around the world.

Why does this all say something bad about me? More a case of you and your ilk showing yourself to be ill mannered intellectually challenged halfwitts.

Jees,... no wonder the US death by friendly fire rate in the Gulf War was 24%. Breeding a couple of generations of genius's over there.....

I've ridden a lap of Laguna Seca twice (though not at speed- I got to participate in parade laps as part of a MotoGP package two separate years)- it's much more radical than it looks on the map- in fact, being able to lap that track faster than high-end exotics DOES guarantee it can corner (again, if you're interested, Google the Top Gear episode where Clarkson runs it in an NSX)- Laguna Seca is a fairly slow track on the MotoGP circuit due to its technical difficulty, and in fact is one of the slowest tracks on the circuit and the most demanding on tires (which means the better-handling vehicles have the best chance, not necessarily the most powerful)- it has the shortest main straight on the circuit at only 453m- your assumption about the track is incorrect- it does not reward big power- it rewards excellent handling.

How did it beat the Aventador, which has nearly 100hp more? By your logic, the Vette should have been slower (again, same driver, same track).

A lateral G rating of 1.05 also means it holds the road as well or better than anything else out there.

As far as sales go, they will sell everyone they make, just like they do every year- Corvettes never have price drops and are always excluded from GM's promotional packages.

You made the comment about American cars not being able to handle- like many here, your mindset is stuck in the 1980s.

Do you have anything that backs up your opinion of 'real world' performance of the C6? Everything I've read gives it high marks. It was out for five years and there is a lot of data- all you're going by is your assumptions.

No chance - even I have standards and the thought that a child of mine would end up one day in a vette is too much to bear.
