7 Pattaya to Bangkok, beat this service area

So there you are driving down the lovely M7 or would it be called Highway 7? On your way to either Pattaya or Bangkok and your feeling a bit peckish, never fear, the food is here.

Can't imagine it is called the M7, I remember when it was a 2 lane potholed piece of shite road you had to use to get from the airport to Pattaya, could well be wrong though as it was a long time ago, but it is a good food and beer stopping place, 35km out of Bangkok and around 50km from Chonburi, but this place has food, fast food and slow Thai food, probably even got somtam and insects.

If I remember correctly there are two Mc Donalds here, now that is gluttony, or it could be that the one on the left doesn't have a drive thru like the one on the right in this photo, now that is laziness. Either way, that is at least one to many, but if you need burgers, well supposedly Mc Donalds sells them, I admit I don't mind their French Fries, but believe with practise you could make these yourself at home, all it needs is some chip shaped slices of cardboard, some of the stuff that is down the back of everybodies sofas, and loads of salt.

I do miss Mc Donalds strawberry milkshakes though, regardless of what dangerous chemicals they are made from.

Starbucks, 7/11, KFC, plenty of fast food down this layby area, also has many Thai restaurants which are quite good, and of course cheap, shops selling snacks and beer, a couple of boxes of fags and your ready for your journey to Pattaya.

As you can see the early bird catches the worm, what the fuk am I doing getting up at this time of morning...

Silver cars everywhere, the blight of Thailand

There are public toilets here, probably best off using the ones in KFC or the other fast food places, public toilets, squats and Thais don't mix too good and will not help your appetite.

    DD,

You were on the inbound side? On the outbound side there is an Indian restaurant. Just walk over the bridge where the McDondalds in your picture is.

Yeah I never hit any service areas, I drove straight from BKK to Pataya and it's a very short drive, an hour or so, going nice speed, in my new Honda City, which I bought for my wife and she feels obligated to loan to me whenever I visit Thailand. No need to stop anywhere, when I am done in Pattaya, I just stop anywhere in Bangkok to get a car wash and the gas is very inexpensive for this trip, only cost about 1500 bahts round trip to fill up her tank and service the car. Why stop at McDonalds, omg. I got some good Indian food on the main drag next to the beach. However, the sand is mushy and yucky, not compared to my beach house on a clean beach in the south pacific. Pattaya only has clubbing, that's it and nothing clean about the beaches. Fresh seafood is served on the beach though, the come around with nice big hot shrimps ready to eat. That's nice. Girls all want money for deeds, really unreliable in general, so don't bother them. I might go back with Friends but not alone, not worth the trip, only junk for sale there, no great items really, not quality merchandise. To me it's a real zoo.

That two lane road wasn't the same road though but the Sukhumvit road south of what is now the motorway.

What a waste of a post if you have fuck all to say shut up. The OP was about a good food stop.

It is a good stop but it is the only one for millions of miles. Would have made sense if they had chopped it up into 4 smaller stops and spread them out as there are about 4 7/11s on each side.

Also fuckin dangerous if you cross the road to the toilet as most drivers think they are still on the motorway.

4 stops, between BKK and pattaya?

Fuck me, that'd be one every 25 kms, or a stop every 15 minutes, a trip down there with the girlfriend would take forever, cos she'd have to stop at everyone!

Once spent a night parked up there trying to sleep 5-in-a-petrol-less-car when Thaksin had the brilliant idea of closing all the petrol pumps nationwide at 10pm. This was after the Oasis concert in Bangkok: Serves me right really..
Loads of food available, but no rooms; hotel accommodation etc. Not so much a "service centre" as just a fukcing food court on the motorway, tbh.
