2 - 3 months car hire

I have a friend here on Samui looking to rent a car for around 2 - 3 months. He is looking at a Fortuner or other 7 seater 4 X 4. He was asking me what he should be looking to pay but I have always bought so can't really help. He thinks he will pick one up for around 15,000 a month but I can't see him getting one as cheap as that. anyone can throw a ball park figure to work on ? Cheers

He'd struggle to get a vios for 15k a month. Might get a good deal at a tent car seller and asking there to rent one. 30k is about right. Highway car rental in Bangkok is about 28k for a month but it's not a new vehicle; usually 8-10 years old but no credit card needed, just 2k down which is returned unless you crash it.

monthly rates should be quite a bit lower than daily ones

so maybe 25K

Monthly repayments on that vehicle must be about 12K per month on finance. Tidy business renting cars on finance if you can fill up.
