    4WD-ing and Trail-Biking in Australia

Well Australia is technically in Asia so this should qualify for a top half thread.

I got a bit home sick talking to some mates on skype the other day. They were taking about bush bashing on their bikes and 4WD's. We used to do a lot of this. The following youtube vid is a mate's younger brother and his mates out on the trails we blazed as teenagers...

I was never much into trail biking - my mother was very anti. I was usually the driver. We had access to good spots through the fire trails running through the family property. I did get into 4WDing quite a bit around Tallaganda and the Bridabella mountains near Canberra in my late teens / early 20's. Wish I had vids but don't, here are a few clips of the area we used to 4WD and the sort of shit we'd get up to.

These are a few lads from the local 4wd club bashing around near the back of my property...

There's this famous hill in the Brindabella mountains, where if you made it up without aid you were a real man. Well I did it at 17 years old in beaten up old school Hilux so suck on that all the youtube failures at attempting this climb

some pretty crap driving on display there. A lot of guys think spinning the wheels as fast as they can is the way to go.

This guy here knows how to drive...

Heading home for a few months at the end of the year, plan on getting up to some more of this stuff, so hopefully can post some vids of my own.

Great stuff. I done a lot of it as a young dude starting on my mates old mans Vespa.

Next bike was my old man bought me a 100cc Kawasaki, Jeez I thought that was the best thing I could ever of been given.

Great sport, just watch out for head butting trees.

The land where my gaff is gonna be built is surrounded by this type of stuff.

My Landcruiser prado has been sitting in hibernation for the last 3 years after a complete engine re-build. My sister just got it cleaned up and registered ready for when we come over - I told her she could drive it but don't go too hard sis! Can't wait to have a bash even just a leisurely cruise through the mountains with the family through the back trails.

As for bikes, it's something I want to get into when I go back home for good. First thing I'm buying my daughter is a 250cc dirt bike .
