    New Colorado

Has the new Chevy Colorado been released yet in Thailand?

I saw a sign advertising a "sneak peek" of the new Colorado at my local Holden dealer in Australia in a weeks time. I might see if I can score a test drive.

Link to 'The Age/drive' article on first drive of new Holden (Chev) Colorado, driven on Thai roads.
The writer seems far from impressed in comparison to Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50.

    First drive: Holden Colorado

^ OK thanks Ratchaburi, They haven't been released here in Aust. but it can't be far away.
I was hoping to get some impressions of it by someone who has seen/driven them, prior to me buying a pick-up when I arrive in Thailand.
Looks like judging by the article, that I posted a link to above, that I'll probably be getting the Ford Ranger or Mazda BT50.

Intersting, ive driven both the Ranger and BT 50 in 2.2 and 3.2 both auto and manual and I reckon the 2.2 Colorado we have pisses all over the pair of them.

I was too for years but I have to say pretty impressed with my Isuzu highlander auto.

Just clocked 200,000kms only replaced battery and tyres.

The new Isuzu in Thai has more fruit than the Colorado.

^Agreed, never liked the Isuzu but the new one is nice. The Colorado is pants inside anyway.

Had a look at the new Colorado yesterday.

Definitely not impressed. Engine is of the old school variety, sounds like a rattly old tractor.

I'll be getting a Ford Ranger or Mazda BT50.

I called in at the Ford showroom yesterday .
I like the Ranger 2.2 4 door apart from the interior, it was all black, felt like a hearse.

The seats will get very hot which will be uncomfortable in use.

The Colorado uses a brand new engine actually, the 2.8 is meant to be pretty good. The Isuzu is still using the old engine however.

^ It might be a new engine, but it sounds terrible. Very rattly. Like a London taxi. The Mazda BT50 that I drove a couple of months ago was very quiet and smooth. You'd be hard pressed to detect that it was a diesel.

Plus, the new 2.8 is 130 Kw whereas the Ford/Mazda 3.2 is 147 Kw.

Only if they're leather. I have black cloth seats and don't notice them being excessively hot.
