This is an interesting question because Im just redoing alot of the work and I have been contemplating just using cladding on the outside. The reason we had to use interior cladding was because the bank requested it for the mortgage.

I wouldnt insulate the house, in my opinion you should use reflective paper 1 sided on framing and then board, put reflective paper on board and then add strips batons to give you air gap, then clad. This is what I am redoing. This helps the cladding dry out, the reflective paper reflect light and heat because of humidity insulation is only good for air con, but those air con rooms would be better to not be wood.

All of the 2 bedrooms that we have air con in are downstairs and qcon block with the wood house above.

Hi Ben, I have a few questions about your house and its build............

I saw the inner walls were built of two layers, did you face any problems with ants or other animals breeding in the hollow inside of the walls?
are your outside walls double layer as well? did you insulate them?
