    On with the pics...

On new year's day, after brunch we walked to Parit Falls. There are 2 falls in Tanah Rata which are near the town center: Parit & Robinson Falls. There are many signposts and no guides needed. My aim (and grudgingly the BF's aim, lol) was to do 10,000 steps. For most days, we were able to acconplish it, so yay!

For most of the trail to Parit Falls, we walked along the highway

We didn't swim in the falls - just took pics. There were also loads of plastic rubbish at the bottom of the falls and downstream.

There are many trails in Cameron Highlands with varying levels of difficulty (easy - moderate - difficult). Parit Falls is part of Trail 4 (the easiest). More info here:

    On with the pics...

The day after, we joined a guided tour to 7 destinations. We booked a tour from one of the kiosks along the main road. The person in charge of the kiosk was a gay OFW named "Alexa" . S/he was very friendly, and has been working in Malaysia for 5 years. There are loads of OFWs in Malaysia - saw them also in my Kota Kinabalu trip some years before. The hotel staff in my KL hotel (near KL Sentral) were also Filipinos.

Anyway, here's the tour package we joined, for 25 ringgit (non-inclusive of entrance fees to 2 destinations).

@toot & looper - I've already been astray, prior to this BF.

@dill - thanks for the info about Hippeastrum plant!

    More drinks pics:

On our last night in the highlands, we had these:
    KL + Cameron Highlands NY 2020 trip-img_20200103_204811-jpg

This was when we got back to KL (for 1 night), since we wanted to be near the airport for our flight. We got free shot glasses bcos we bought 5 bottles! That Jinro Plum Soju is delish! We finished 2, and after that, I was a very happy chappy! Lol.

    KL + Cameron Highlands NY 2020 trip-img_20200104_202225-jpg

I've been looking for Jinro (brand) Plum Soju in supermarkets here, but so far no success yet. There's Soju but not Jinro brand, and just plain ones (not plum flavor). Will keep looking!

Dinner at a Chinese resto in the highlands:

Deep fried pork ribs (we wanted pork bcos prior to that, we've been eating chicken for several days!)

We had cider/beer & Pringles after dinner on the hotel room balcony. Was nice to just listen to the cicadas, drink, chill & talk.

    More pics from this trip...

Later that day, we went for a short evening walk around the neighborhood prior to dinner. I saw on the map that our hotel was near a Catholic church, so I wanted to visit and pay my respects.

The church was on a hill, so the BF grudgingly tagged along. (I'm more athletic than him - he calls himself an armchair athlete. Lol) But we were able to get 11k steps at the end of the day, so it was all good! We also lost some weight after this trip, so doubly good!

Whenever I had my pics taken, he would front facing & back shots. ("ok, from the back - for TD" ). Very supportive. We also travelled together in the Vietnam & Boracay trips last year.

The next day, we opted to explore Brinchang, the other town in Cameron Highlands. Breakfast was not included in our hotel (it was a budget hotel but had a balcony, which was nice), so we usually had 2 meals only: brunch & dinner.

We were disappointed with the walk around Brinchang, so we decided to return to Tanah Rata and walk to Robinson Falls instead.

At this junction, we didn't know whether to go straight or turn right (uphill). Google maps said that the falls was towards the right, so we set ourselves to walk uphill.
