    Malaysian expat forum

I have a colleague that will likely be relocating to Malaysia for the company I work for. Anyone have a any links to a Malaysian expat forum. I did a few google searches but thought I would ask this fine upstanding TD crowd first.

I can probably help you out with most things if you don't have any luck with a forum.

    Thanks.

I did a bunch of googling as did he. I will PM with specific stuff. He plans on moving his family over with him. Likely a 2 year gig.

Big thing is for the first six months is he'll be taxed at 28%. After that it'll settle down to a rate somewhere in the teens.

KL is pricey (relative to the rest of the country) but not that bad compared to say Seoul or Singapore.

Penang would be my choice if I were to relocate to Malaysia. Traffic at times is daunting, but it isn't a deal-breaker.

I had been doing the back and forth there up to now checking on the factory and I agree on traffic but overall not a bad place to live.

Here's where to find the cheapest beer on the island. You meet some right characters there too

    Antarabangsa Enterprise
21, Lorong Stewart, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
