Cool. Did you go to Malacca just to see the street art?

Thanks; somewhere new, this last trip was mostly places we'd been to before; one for next time, likely be KL in July.

Just wandering, previous trips always went to the heritage area by taxi or bus, this time along the river - though very hot - was a change of scenery before we arrived at the main tourist area. First trip here stayed at a riverside hotel just up from the bridge in the old area, and the last time our family holiday stayed in the new city area.

Melaka is special . . . the mix of architectural style, food etc . . . and durian ice kacang is a must from the place just over the walking bridge on the corner . . .

    Great pics, thank you

Replica of the Portuguese sailing ship Flor de la Mar (Flower of the sea) which sank in a storm in 1511.

Remains of the fort complete with cannon, on the Malacca River (Sungai Melaka) in the heritage area

Tourist transport. Girls loved this when we brought them here, complete with loud sound systems

    Across the bridge

End of the day began to walk back along the river to the bus station, saw a bus approaching and caught that, back to KL in the evening, return journey took an hour + longer due to traffic. Probably too much in one day especially if you haven't been before, we didn't venture far from that central area.

My wife's family visited recently and made the same mistake. Too much to do in one day.
