    Most Cops are Kunts

I read about a country cop in NZ who was called out on Saturday night to a accident, as he was the towns sole cop he had little choice. At the accident site another cop turned up and breath tested the country cop and busted him for being a little over the limit. What a KUNT!
Of course here in Thailand the cops as as bad or worse than anywhere. There is no attempt to disguise their function as anything else than money collectors, they will uphold law and order as long as they get paid for it. In my business the fvckers shake me down for a monthly contribution which I pay to keep they away. They don't offer any service for this money its just to keep the thieving bastards off my doorstep. You gotta be a special kind of arsehole to want to be a cop, of course this isn't true for every one, just the majority.

I used to avoid them everywhere, I have an aversion to coppers, but here in the village it's better you know them and they know you as a decent guy.

Some are ok when you know them personally.

I never knew a bad one in the UK.

    Here, I rarely encounter any.

Almost all my encounters with the police here have been pleasant.
They are certainly in there for the money.
Their favorite trick here is to bust you for not having a motorcycle license.
They nail Thai and tourist alike. The local Thais hate them.
I like it here because you can be a very bad boy and if you have the money you can get out of the whole thing!
Generally if you show respect you receive due respect in kind. (money is the common denominator here)

It's a big contrast to the officious kunts that are frequently haunting the police forces in the west where the extortion that place is in an entirely different league.

Just one encounter with a bad cop in bkk makes it very difficult to accept that a lot of them are actually OK.

In bkk I was driving my pick-up up Wireless road - the one off Sukhumvit that is one way and goes past the British Embassy. I kept in the right lane because I wanted to turn right and get on to the express way and get home to Phuket.

I stopped in the second from right-most lane so I could turn right. This idiot in a Datsun on Petchaburi Road coming from my right stopped over the white line when the lights went red for him. So for me to turn right onto Petchaburi road, I had to swing left to avoid the Datsun and then right to get in the lane for the express way.

This cvnt copper standing near the express way entrance waves me down and demands 1,000 baht! I actually thought he was waving me down to help me. But no, he drew this pathetic sketch and told me - my g/f - that I had taken "too long" to get in the right hand lane. Fucking lying cvnt. He just wanted money. He could see I was disbelieving and angry and he was sweating like a pig.

My g/f said to just give him 300 baht so I did. But he wouldn't accept it out of the window. He got practically his whole head and shoulders through the window and grabbed the money.

Next time I won't be such a push-over. I'll argue all the way to the fvcking police station. But that 's why they stop people there. They know people entering the express way have a long way to go and don't want to be bothered by arguing their case at a police station.

I'm still bloody pissed off that I gave in to that cvnt. Next time I'll just shake my head and drive off. I read on other web sites that other people have been done there. I also read on other web sites that a more knowledgeable Thai g/f got out of the car and practically beat the copper into submission - verbally. She told her b/f to give the bastard 50 baht and they drove off.

If it ever happens to me again, I hope I have the balls to do the same. It was really good to get back to Phuket about 10 hours later and wave to the local friendly plod at the checkpoints.

After arriving at the airport recently, I jumped in my car and drove out onto the main road, staying in the left most lane with the intention of merging over to the right lanes.
I ended up behind a bus that had stopped at a bus stop and as I took off a coppers eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw me behind the wheel and stopped me.

he said I was illegally stopped at a bus stop (I was actually stopped before it - the bus was at the bus stop) but he took my lisence and told me to drive up the road and wait for him, presumably until he had finished fleecing people. Well, after a long haul flight I was in no mood for this so I just stayed where i was with my hazard lights on. He was very irate at this and demanded I move on. I said I was going nowhere without my lisence and although my wife said to just pay him i stood firm and said I would call the tourist police as I couldn't understand what I did wrong. This went on for about 10 minutes until he got stressed at me blocking the road and gave up, letting me get on my way.

There was no way I could have got out of that lane before the bus moved on.

Stand your ground and call the tourist police.

^ Do you thnk the Tourist police are going to help you?

My ol lady went to see the Business police yesteday because her ex manager had been pocketing the money for the last three months, she gave him to pay them off. They told her the "fine" would be 50,000 Baht ! She rang and asked what to do, I told her to tell them to go fvck themselves. They then came up with 20,000 Baht + the 3 x 2,000 Baht that hadn't been paid. I said OK as long as you bang up, the thieving ex manager. They are thinking about it.

    Lazy bunch of thieving kunts.

Agree with what others have said here -- they are complete ****s, which is doubly true here in Pattaya. A few months ago I was on a motorbike going the wrong way down a soi (there were no signs), and the **** pulls me over, asks for my license. I had to bribe him 200 baht to get away. A month later, it happened again, but I drove off before he could catch me. I've read stories from foreigners in BKK that if a cop pulls you over, don't let him get behind you - some will try to plant drugs on you and then you are really fucked.

I will be driving to Pattaya Saturday afternoon and as per usual i am expecting a confrontation with a theiving bastard aka police officer. Its almost a regular occurance. I was driving a Fortuner through BKK and turned onto the toll road when a police officer stopped me and said i was speeding. He somehow estimated the speed i was doing in his peanut brain and then attempted to fine me. After some banter and him looking at my license not knowing what it was he waved me on.

If you stand up to them or show that you are not going to stand for any of there bullshit most will just send you on your way. As they cant be assed with dealing with a asshole farang.
A mate was sitting on his bike the other day a copper pulls up and said do you have a licence for that me mate just looks at him and said YEH and the copper rides off. Now if me mate had wadied and showen any sign of weakness you can bet that he would have tried to scam some money out of him for some bullshit reason

Had a the kunts raid our business today, 8 of the pox ridden scumbag bastards, because my wife is the nominee owner she got the grilling to the point of tears running down her face.
We knew they were coming so had a couple of days to get rid of anything (we thought) that was going to provide ammo for them to bust us with, so the pickings were a bit slim. My loverly Glock and 9mm Vector Uzi went a couple of days ago, all the potentially dodgy stuff and the illegal Burmese maid got the chop, so I thought everything was clean but of course the kunts can root out a few things.

They wanted 500,000 baht to walk, told them no way, they took a bit of stuff, coincidently about 500,000 bahts worth. After they left I rang my connections and they came around for a bit of drink money for a pig pow wow meeting. A couple of hours later it was sorted, 50,000 Baht to keep the pigs happy and my wife out of the slammer, another 10,000 to keep my minder pigs happy. I get my stock back.

I did have a laugh on them though as I had a safe which they thought the guns were in, I had lost the keys, so they spent 1.5 hours bashing it in, even though it was a cheap safe it took some cracking. When they eventually hacked through the steel and concrete at the rear end of the found NOTHING. What a bastard eh?

Not illegal but paperwork to prove legality wasn't immediatly available.

Seems like that would be something you would have ready at all times. What or who gave them a clue that you didn't have the right paperwork?

    Just curious.

Actually, the cops around my village are a good bunch.

I had them around when we had the house blessed, slapped a couple of bottles of decent whiskey on their table after the monks had left and now they think I'm great!

One's a good mate of the missus' and I lent him my unregistered bike to go for a quick ride, I guess I don't have to worry about getting hassled for that around here..

She got busted for not wearing a helmet, stormed up to the cop shop and got a quick apoligy "sorry, he's new here"!

There are some good stories of encounters with them here.

Cops here are predictably avaricious, they don’t care, right or wrong, they are just like the whores, its all about who can pay the most. So no matter what kind of shit you get into as long as you can out bid the other party, you will be in the right.

not quite true - if you're a resident they actually refuse to help you.(because that means your not a tourist) and on other occassions when i've tried ringing them i've been told theres a police box 100 metres from where you are - go talk to them!
