The Geisha Shuffle And Inmans Twitch, A Guide To Clean Toilets

when you need to go, you really need to go.

please post locations of decent toilets.

heres a couple in the sukhumvit area of bangkok.

    NANA HOTEL, BANGKOK.

very clean, reasonable aircon, mostly used by westerners so little danger of encountering middle eastern splash and seat soilage. powerful flush system guarantees complete removal of waste.
copious toilet paper supplies and good handwashing facilities. if you can make it to the front door then you can be assured of a satisfactory excretory experience.

    ROBINSONS FOOD COURT, BANGKOK

in the basement, reasonably clean, but nothing compared to the nana. no toilet paper supplied, there is a dispenser outside, but thats no good if you didnt see it a buy some on the way in. high proportion of middle eastern clientele so plenty of loud farts, groaning and spitting to be heard. weak flush, so possibility of brown trout overstay is high.

In Indonesia, I find most/all mosques have a toilet. Usually squat style, but normally quite clean.

Circle K's and 7/11's also have staff toilets that you can use. States of cleanliness vary.

    look.

    MBK
If you get caught short in MBK, try to make it to the 5th floor and go to the shitters next to Index. They're clean and hardly get used compared to the rest of the building.

    Soi 4
If you don't think you can reach the Landmark try the Ball in Hand. Excellent bogs.

    On-Nut Beer Garden
Jump on a mototaxi and head down to The Toby Jug. Their all in one Western/Squatter/Urinal with bum gun has attracted tourists from across the globe.

    The Conrad Hotel
The place to go for a 5 Star shit. Great hand towels.

The new McDonald in Khao Yai has a mint shatter..I almost didn't go on it to preserve it's regal qualities...but alas, 5 minutes later and I'd ruined the thing..

It's a bit like all shopping centers though. There's always one floor with a crappy one.

And don't even contemplate using the "toilets" at the back of the beer garden itself.

    Emporium toilets all pretty good.

Best park public toilets I've found are in Rama IX park (near Udom Suk entrance), probably better than anything you're likely to find in the west.

true, the emporium lavs are clean and "welcoming".

you will be shitting next to hi-so thais and as we all know that their shit dont stink, theres no need to worry about nauseating aromas from the adjoining cubicle disturbing your ablutions.

Any four or five star 'international' hotel.
Index in Ubon has good bogs too, they've proved a godsend a coupla times. I assume they're fine elsewhere too.

The toilets in the 24-hour Subways on lower Sukhumvit are useful if you're drinking at the street-side boozers after hours.

I'm gonna disagree with this. I think the lavies in the Emporium are terrible. Either I've been going to the wrong floor or they've improved them in the last five years since I dropped the kids off there.

The ones on the floor I always went to, the same floor as the skytrain entrance, were always dirty with wet floors, people queuing to wash their hands and a load of motorbike delivery drivers doing their hair.

    ^

i suppose the ones on that floor are the first stop for weak bladdered skytrain users and other desperate outsiders,

the ones on the floor with the bookshop might be a better bet.

^ & ^^ Yeah, it's worth going inside the mall a bit. I also like the foamy soap they have in the dispensers.

My fiancee told me her father is going to put a western toilet in his house/hut... there will be a bucket of water for flushing... I have to tell ya, I don't know what to expect!

are those squatting holes really that bad? like a honey bucket on a construction site?

and... you dudes crack me fucking up... I love this message board!
