Or as I do, contact your money manager (or the person you deal with at your bank) and e-mail them your details (your wire transfer account information here in Thailand) and ask them to transfer it to you.

Send the money in GBP and let the Thai receiving bank exchange it into THB

if your going to stay in patts.how long? register with a currency dealer in uk.moneycorpe.if you have a uk cheque book or a visa card, order amount £5k give your bank details patts.and when you want it,no charge, better rate and they will send it in bahts, small charge this end,it is easyer than it sounds.

Interesting, what UK bank do you use, i use three and in all cases i have to physically call them to make a transfer, due to money laundering laws, they have to by law read you a disclaimer and you have to tell them what the money is for

    Nationwide International do transfers online.
Set it up the first time with written instructions and then it takes 30 secs each time

all the banks are about the same, but if you are changing a large amount say £20,000 then it makes sense to use a currency dealer as you will get spot rate, works out about 12,000baht and only a small charge this end.
