I live in Pattaya and am looking for a used motorbike in good condition around 20,000 baht.
Any suggestions? We know about the Threpasit Rd. auctions, by the way.

Every Honda/Yama/Kawa dealer has loads of them.
Read it: It's officially on the market for 19,999bt. Will only respond to a kind owner and is immune to damn good thrashings with pieces of bamboo..Originally Posted by Anteak

We can haggle if you want..
There is a Honda dealer on the beach side of Sukhumvit near one of the roads that leads to Jomtien (sorry I cannot describe better) that sells only repossessed bikes, but they were no bargain. Unless you find some farang with an airplane ticket for tomorrow, you will not find any bargains on anything used in Pattaya, they are horribly overpriced.
Suggest you bite the bullet and get the cheapest Honda Wave, it'll cost you about 34000 baht, but with care it will run forever.
WHATEVER YOU DO don't even think about buying one of the Chinese bikes, they cost about 20K and are not worth half that much.
My ol lady has a Honda wave 3 yrs old and 18,ooo Km electric start and 100cc, I want to get rid of it because my ol Lady should be constrained to riding a rocking horse.
She reckons its worth no more that 10,000 bt, I reckon about 15K
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking
We sold a 4.5 year old wave with about 45k on the clock to a Honda dealer for 19'5k. It was the 125i leccy start and look tidy enough.
I suggest looking at the many posted ads located outside Friendship Market (located on South Pattaya Rd). Also in some shops the Pattaya Mail is delivered on Thursday evening and you can search the ads before most see the paper.
Alternately, there are always the moto dealers.
Always check the green book: if registration is current and the seller is actually the owner!
Yet, I suggest you look for a bike that was farang owned; it's not unusual for Thai's not to follow the recommended maintenance for their vehicles.
