Best advice I heard was "STAY MARRIED" as you wont be able to take your home with you unless it's a yacht

Why not post the insurance companies here? There may be a few more interested, for example myself.

And how staying married save your house from getting broken in or burned down?

The best thing to do would be to find a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in your phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) Logos and you should be able to find a professional agent with a dozen or more different insurance companies to help you.
Good luck and I hope this helps!

Small word of warning... when it comes to paying out on a claim, be careful what you think you are covered for, and what possible angle can be used by the insurance company to counter the claim.

For example, someone I know who had cover for storm damage, after a huge wind storm collapsed a roof on their car... the insurance company claimed "act of god" which voided any claim.

It came down to who had the 'biggest lawyer' in the end.
