Thai Airways/American Express card

Aloha,

I have seen an advertisement for a 'Thai American Express Platinium' card, but is it a good idea to get such a thing?

I'm always hunting for thai airways miles, so it looks like a good deal that you get miles whenever you buy something with the card (I was thinking that I could pay all my expenses every month and thereby avoid the usual credit card fees).

Do you know if the card also generates miles if you use it outside Thailand?

^ yeah i got one - the points are pretty good.

but not everywhere excepts AMEX - IMHO its the worst of the big credit cards.

and u get the usual thousand junk mails when the sell your details onwards.

but i think the actual card is alright. - abnd u tend to get a few freebies each year.

What kind of freebies? And have you used the card somewhere else than 'the big durian'?

The only problem is that you have to fly Thai.

actually i got the card in thailand, not indo - used it all over the world - no problems.

The last 2 times I flew Thai, I found the flight attendants to be bloody useless. On a flight back from Phuket in June, the passengers had to disembark over the empty food boxes that the hadn't bothered to collect. The guy next to me picked up 5 or 6 and handed them to the chief steward on his way out "Sawatdee khrap!".
