You may find that economics of buying to rent in Thiland don't work out in the same way that they do in the west. You could well be better off buying property in the UK in an area of appreciating property prices and using the rental from that to fund yourself in LOS.
I don't have enough money to buy a house in the uk.
In thailand I can buy a house/condo for 20-40k while in the uk I'd need well over a 100k to get myself on the ladder.
I won't be getting a mortgage to purchase these properties so I need to make sure the money I spend shows enough of a return to take care of my monthly bills & hopefully appreciates enough that any children I have later in life have something decent to inherit.
The UK property market is way out of my price range as a self employed man who won't be getting a mortgage.
But if I did have a couple hundred grand spare well that's a bit different.I'd probably buy a place somewhere in Leeds & rent that out & use that to fund my lavish lifestyle in Thailand & SE Asia.

I've had me, wife, and two kids (and sometimes mum, dad grandad and other thai relatives) living with me, running a washing machine and watering the garden and I've never had a water bill over 300 baht.Quote:

No need for aircon if you can rent an old wooden house like mine. High ceilings, cools nicely at night time.
Little noisy though but I love it.
Never a wooden house again, sleeping a week at the in laws' house back in the days was enough.
Hi guys whittler here.I came across this sheet for a budget. I put down what I thought might be right on some things, others I don't have a clue.
What I would like to do is post my budget and if you could help me with what I don't have and if I estimated wrong let me know.
I know that some of these estimates are subjective, but I would rather figure high. Here is the list.

As to no. 1 I was thinking about diamond city. But if I can find a place as nice and as cheap in Naklua I think I would prefer that area. But this will
be a 5 month test, so even if I take diamond city, I can still go to Naklua
When I was there I was on Holliday and didn't pay any attention to cost.

When you rent condo long term is it usually furnished? What about sheets & blankets and dishes, knives forks?

I am lucky that my village has built a swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis court complex, free for residents.
I spend as little as 5,000 baht a week and as much as 12,000. Depends on my fancy.
