    Satellite Fraud

True--if thats the right name for the satellite provider have just said they are dropping BBC entertainment from their list of channels
I've got 6 months to run and its the main reason i have their top package
Trying to work out why, they will lose an enormous number of farrang subsribers as all my friends feel like i do and will cancel
Could it be the owner of the station who doesnt feel the BBC are sympathetic to him just trying to get his own back
Are there any technical experts who can say how to get these sorts of channels through a computer for instance

    wl

Probably the standard business strategy here, cut your costs and increase your fees. And they wonder why they lose money.

Dropping BBC from True's lineup is not very prudent....very marketable for the satellite foreign viewers here. Not good business.

Saw that the BBC had been dropped from our local cable operator, who gets most of their service from True. Missing CNN as well.

They are arseholes, got rid of their crap True visions a year ago, use a local cable, which is crap also but its peanuts per month. And it gets a few sports channels and F1, so for me it does the job.
    Thank god for torrents.

True must be losing customers faster than a sieve loses water, They used to have about 20 in our village now have 2, serves the fckers right.

Details please, Blackgang. What do you need to get setup, what channels can you get, and how much?

A 5.5 foot fixed sat dish and a box for the SA sat, lots of english channels, 10 sports channels and SKY,CNN,Aljazeera, Dawn and some more news channels, nat geo, discovery, 6 or so movie channels, I don't watch any TV hardly anymore since that nigger is on every news channel at all hours of the day and telling his lies, so I just read what news I need off of the net.
I can't find the card that has the CM info for the co I got my sat from, but Ant got it and said he likes it so PM him and he can tell you more than I can cause I have never really been a big fan of TV and we got our first one in 48.

Two years ago here, there was a big fuss and todo about a new cable subscriber, Auroa, owned by someone connected.

The package was so so except they advertised that they were going to have ALL the epl games on live.

As you can imagine, many a pom signed up, ok ok EVERY pom in jakarta signed up....

first week, no soccer at all, despite it being on the programme....

    2nd week same

3rd week they admitted that there was goign to be no soccer at all, some partnership between connected people here ahd fallen through.

but bad luck to all the poms, they'd been conned into signing 12 month deals !

Dropping BBC does not make much sense from the financial point of view, as it is free on most sats

CNN was similar but I am not sure about it now

It appears it is the BBC Entertainment Channel that is being dropped not the BBC World News. The BBC Entertainment Channel is only available on the 'Platinum' package but I imagine with 3 channels being changed, many subscribers will downsize to the 'Gold' package

Based on BG's info i've found that the DSTV pacakage listed here will allow reception of M-Net's South African programming. 21,500 Baht for the equipment. It doesn't say how much the subscription is though.

The DM500 5th generation set top box packages

I paid 20k for my setup and they installed it in CM, and it cost 1k here to have it set up and tuned, but you can't buy it here.,, But the top box is a MAZZ.

Ant had the DSTV but said it was spendy and he bought the same as I got and is happy with it, so give him a PM, as I ain't sharp on electronics and really am not interested in it and so I just bought it because I wanted to see something other than Thai and this has about 10 Super sports channels.

OK I found the card from Chiang Mai Technical Engineering Co. Ltd
053-110777-9 053-110801-2 and it is the MAZZ box and SA sat that you are interested in,, their shop is just on past Rim Ping Mee Chok on the inner ring road as you come up from the super at Ram2 hospital..
