^it takes about an hour or two at one of the offices and then they will send it to you in about a week. If you go back and pick it up it might be quicker.
The office I have used in the past has been in the carpark at Central Bangna.
Took my wife a couple of weeks 10 days?
Bless her, she got one 3 years ago after we got married.
I think she was expecting me to take her places.
still, we went to Nan last Christmas.
5 days is the norm. Well is for my staff when I send them overseas.
my misses got hers in 3 days if you go and pick it up yourself
(i remember it well as its the only time I've been surprised at how efficient it was compared to back home)
really?....honestly that suprises me.Originally Posted by justwingit

I enjoyed getting my mates specs repaired for him (broken lens) in less than 30 minutes for 400 Baht the other day.
I was relieved to have an MRI scan within 30 minutes of arriving at the hospital a couple of years ago.
Even more relieving was having my mother diagnosed with a very difficult illness to detect recently. Alone for the tests needed she would have waited at least 6 months in a UK hospital.
I love walking in and getting my ATM on the spot which i have never done at home.
Maybe you are not from the UK.
Took my wife ten minutes to get her passport.
That was at the Chiangmai Office and we insisted that the very, very, very nice lady in cubicle 6 served us.
From MFA website, for Bangkok, you can pick up the passport in two working days after submitting document. It takes 5-7 working days if you want them to send it by post.
For other provinces, they will send by post only and it takes 5-7 working days.

Many thanks for the replies. My friend's girlfriend hurried off to Bangkok this afternoon convinced they woould hand one over to her across the counter. I'll see what she comes back with tomorrow.
Sent the gf to bk for one last year and arrived at her home by post about 5 days later
