Rule 1: NEVER talk in horspower. Horsepower refers to the size of the electric motor driving the compressor and not to the actual cooling output of the machine.
about 160 watts per sq metre. these are rules of thumb and should not be used for large heatload calculations that have more complex factors but are good as a guide. i think i wrote a thread on airconditioning.
