What do you think is the best hospital in Bangkok

We have been living in bangkok for a while now and have been using different hospitals. The first year, we went to Bumrungrad a few times, but realized it was to expensive. Then Bangkok Christian a lot, especially for health checkups, but then realized it does not always have the best equipment. (no laser surgery for example). So ended up at Ekkamai Hospital. Which hospitals you use?

I use Samitivej on Sukhumvit for general stuff and Rutnin on Sukhumvit 23 for my eyes.
Really though it is about finding a doctor you are happy with for a particular issue.
Many of them work out of more than one hospital private/public.

Bumrungrad always seems to come top of the surveys and I have what I considered to b good treatment there but I have also had what I consider to be poor treatment there as well

    pretty much.
    anything serious Bumrungrad
Samitivej far too overpricd and commercial, especially at Srinakarin.

nothing life threatning and cheap ive used Camillian on Thonglor, though when i had shingles they locked me in a shed in the car park.

paperwork i used med consult place on Suk 49 (i think)
Phay Thai 2 about th worse i have come across but Paulo prey shit too
some of the Gov hospitals are fine depending

i must stress only the shingles above was for m personally as opposed o family members
and im not falling apart or a hypochondriac
    we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...

...I've been going to Samitivej for years and have always been satisfied with medical outcomes, consultations, etc. I visited Bumrungrad to see an allergy specialist and left...unimpressed. I recently had cataracts removed at BNH. The eye doctor there graduated from Triam Udom with SD...he's excellent. I visited Bangkok Christian as my health insurance was offering free flu shots there...fine, but the Third World aura was definitely present.

I was trained to not find the best Hospital, but to find the best Doctor, then attend the medical facility which he/she services.

I occasionally use Mission Hospital (there is a good dermatologist there), recently started using the private hospital at Siriraj for other stuff (heart etc), quite happy with it.

So maybe your question isn't really 'which is the best'.

I had dental treatment at BNH and wasn't impressed, but who knows... other departments may be good.

Also went to Bumrungrad, but the whole 'illness resort' thing wasn't really for me.

Most recently I went to Samitivej, and I was impressed.

Oh, and I also had a medical for work at Bangkok Hospital and that was a real 'cattle class' experience, in contrast to Bangkok Pattaya.

I don't know how anyone can say any hospital in Thailand is 'too commercial' in comparison to Bumrungrad, but each to their own.

Sukhumvit hospital (Ekkamai) was good for wife's pregnancy. Plus Bourbon Street is right next door.

Srinakarin helpfully showed us the miscarriage which wasn't great and wouldn't begin to stitch up my head until they saw my insurance card (different occasions...)

Have only ever used Bumrungrad when things get serious and operations have been needed. No complaints with the exception of in-patient food, but unless you'd have stayed there when they use to do their own food in-house a long time ago you'd know no better and just put it down to all hospital food being shit. So, Bangkok Pattaya locally for most issues is fine and Bumrungrad when there's going to be general anaesthetic and a scalpel involved.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I agree that the feeling you get about a hospital mostly depends on the doctor you get.
