Its getting to the point that I can barely use my credit cards and ATM cards anymore. Every single transaction lately gets blocked for potential fraud and requires a text message to be sent to the phone number on file. This phone number MUST be a USA number as they will not send to an overseas number.
In the past I maintained a Skype number that would send me text messages via wifi/data but apparently citibank AND Bank of America are wise to this and/or Skype has stopped allowing short messages to be sent via their service.
Ive spent hours on the phone with both banks and they flat-out refuse to do anything about it. Ive requested that the verification text be sent via email and they refuse. Must be a US phone number. Citibank actually had the audacity to try and get me to upgrade my "banking package" as a work-around the fucks.
So here I am at 4AM waiting on hold, again, for 45 minutes, for someone to answer at citibank and un-fuck my daily ATM withdrawal limit which as been arbitrarily reset to $300 per day, which, im told, by a philipino, only counts on week days and the daily limit gets locked over the weekends - never mind that its not the fucking weekend.
So, does anyone have solid workaround for this issue? Skype doesnt work anymore, and I need to be able to receive text messages via wifi/data.
