I did not know him personally I remember reading about it.
I remember some story about an elephant, who was chained and could not run away, and was killed by a nest of hornets....

Were they Hornets or Wasps? So many around here of different sizes. I have had 2 close calls here with the greater banded hornet. They typically make big paper nests in shrubs and trees. I was trimming my hedges and they flew out. I dropped my shit and ran. Got one sting in the neck. Hurt like a son of a bitch. They are incredibly aggressive and attack in numbers. The Black Paper wasp is just as bad if not worse and their sting packs a punch. They will build nests anywhere including holes in the ground. If you are allergic to venom these guys can kill you pretty quick.
