    Naga

Has anyone seen the Naga dragon shooting fireballs? I have just seen it on TV news and there werefire balls shooting into the air. What's going on? I was on the Laos side of the Mekong 3 years ago with 1000's of others but didn't see when every one went "there , no there etc".

Happens around this time every year- although on another thread it was pointed out that there were less than normal this year.
No known scientific explanation either, which makes it all the more intriguing.

Which makes it all the more the same as most of the pumped waterfalls you see around Thailand, just more BS. If they were REAL, don't you think National Geographic would have done a story on it by now?

Well worth going to see. I went there about 5 yrs ago now, first day was rained off, second day we rented a bike to go there and I was only white face there amongst a crowd of only a few hundred Thais. Don't know why this was coz I heard it was a big event so expected it packed out, but I know a lot of people left the previous day because of the rain.

Yes I saw the fireballs, no it's not tracer bullets, and to fake I would say would be extremely difficult. Methane gas, yes maybe. Who knows?

But it was one of the best things I have ever done in Thailand and recommend others to go and see it.

Yeah, those dragons are pretty damn smart. They must read the newspapers or watch the news, because every year they do it on the appointed day and at the prescribed hour.

    Amazing -- those dragons.

You will need to book a hotel months in advance.
Unless you live within walking distance.

The fireballs can be seen at other times of the year also, just not as many as over this time of the year.

Just scuba guys farting would be more believable. Could be the Thais tied cement weights to all the dead water buffalos that the farangs didn't pay the doctor fees for and when they exploded the gas ignited.

Nah, it's recorded in some temple documents from a hundred or more years back. What's weird is that it mainly happens on the tenth full moon of the year on the lunar calendar. Must be a scientific explanation unless there is a Nessie or ten on the river bottom.
