    power cuts

having had 4power cuts the past 2weeks,i am thinking of buying a generator, just to power 2fans to keep the dog cool.last night it went off for 4hrs.and the bedroom was 95.we can expect more to come with the construction of the motorway behind us and some very big machines working.i have looked at hyandai petrol ones but it concerns me about how noisy it will be.

i bought a small generator of lazada 600 something it runs 2 pedestal fans for about 8 hours with a full tank of fuel 2 stroke engine so you have to mix the fuel for it
i use a long power cord so its far enough away that you do not hear it running

I have a couple of solar panels on the hut at the back of our house tied in with an inverter and a couple of batteries. Good enough to run the deep well pump during the day and fans and lights at night.

I wondering about using the wind generators they use on yachts to add some additional power, rather than using a fuel fed generator.

Would be the cheapest and most effective quick fix.

I understand it's different in the sticks but in bkk haven't had power cuts one few years ago... much better than western euro infra where I had to have UPS. If there's a storm they break. Have UPS and genny in Thai too of course just to be safe.
