I have long found online banking to be tedious and more than once my access was cancelled for some unexplained 'security' issue. Then it was very, very difficult to get it re-enabled.

That said, the banking apps are magic. More easy than credit cards. For me, so far, all four banking apps I use in three different countries have worked faultlessly.

I do online banking and have since it really kicked off years ago. Man I couldn't imagine not being able to both in the states and here in Thailand. I haven't been in a bank for years. Here in Thailand wire transfers are quick and extremely efficient. I order steaks and other supplies from various places and have had great service. Some places I just purchase on my cc and BAM it's here in a day or so.

Anybody order from Wishbeer? If so, what has been your experience?

Wasn’t there a news report that stated online alcohol sales were not permitted now?

We are in Thailand now for five months. I don't even remember what Thai money looks like. I pay everything with my phone, which is a little dangerous because not having enough money with you does not stop you from those impulse buys.

I went to renew my work permit earlier this week and I had a hard time convincing them to take cash.
They only wanted online or credit card. They were quite adamant about it.
I don't do online and I hadn't my credit card with me.

I seem to recall sometime ago they refused to accept anything but cash.

Cash is still king at Chiang Mai immigration.

Not sure what it has to do with food delivery, though.

^ Yes, my local immigration office has had no qualms at all relieving me of cash... but that's another story.

More importantly, I'm still looking for an online shop that sells both mushy peas and Birds custard powder!

Is that still in play? There have been so many rule changes and laws and orders I lost track.

    ^^, ^, Many thanks guys!

Having been accused of being a fussy eater and a moaner I barely want to post this, but hopefully Ootai is too busy with his picture viewing 'issues' at the moment to read this...

I would just like to happily point out that it's not the instant custard that I'm after, but the real custard powder that comes in a tub that you have to make into a paste and then stir in boiled up milk to make. I think this is much better. There seems to be a nationwide shortage of this stuff in Thailand lately.

Thankfully I'll be visiting the UK in a couple of months so can stock up, along with Daddies Sauce which I have never seen in Thailand.

Daddies Brown Sauce | London Pie

Real custard (egg yolks, sugar, vanilla essence, milk/cream) is so easy to make and much better than powdered.

^^ That's the 'instant' one Lom.

^ Cyrille, you win a 'Green' if they actually come up trumps. I find time and again with Lazada for this kind of thing that they take the order, it gets delayed, and then a couple of weeks later they cancel the order and refund your money. Many times I check the website again and the said goods are still being advertised.

I don't want to make a big thing of this as after all, it's only custard powder...

Oh, and well done PAG, that's the first time I've ever seen Daddies Sauce for sale in Thailand! (I'll think about trying your custard method...)

Most websites are still going. You just need to sign up as a business account. Which conveniently is exactly the same as a normal account. My account was changed automatically when the rule was first passed.

You must be the most unlucky Lazada customer ever..
I've been like you Mendip, for 15 years I complained about what I couldn't buy in Samui and getting frustrated every time I got "no have" as an answer.
It is 7 years since I started buying online, mostly from Lazada but also from Expatfoods/Britishop and a Swedish food shop in Rayong, the number of seller cancellations during those years has prolly been less than 1 in 100 ordered items.
I now have Kerry/Flash Express deliveries to my gate almost every week.
It just works. Goods I want arrives. I've stopped whining.

^ Yeah, I think I must have been a bit unlucky Lom! I was buying school shoes for my daughter lately on Lazada and the first two sellers cancelled after a couple of weeks... it was just lucky that the school didn't open in the end or my daughter would have gone in bare feet. Now she's got three identical pairs because I started multiple ordering, assuming that there would be more cancellations.

But where does happily pointing out that I've been unable to source Birds custard powder lately become a moan or whine? I was just happily inquiring if anyone else had found it... maybe I need to ask more cheerfully.

    I am really happy!

I've read and heard the same... I guess if Mendip just ate normal food and wasn't looking for some mushy pea concoction to mix with his pond fish he would truly be happy.
