    Half Bangkaow???

So, the house out in Nakhon Nowhere is needing change...

For many years, we had a great dog, half Bangkeow, very loyal, killed entire packs of dogs that came anywhere near the property..., killed snakes (we get lots of spitting cobras), was great with me and the family, but was just a nasty fuker to everyone else, exactly as you need when you have 10 rai in shiteland with the usual nutty behaviour of locals...

    Also, all the cats died.

You know the eco-system relationship... you need some good cats and dogs to work together against the rats, snakes, packs of dogs and locals - just make other places an easier target.

But getting good dogs/cats isn't easy, and the FiL loved the old dog that with all his teeth falling out and hardly able to walk and only one eye working die to the killing of spitting cobras came to his end - a large pack of local dogs finally got brave enough to call him out (not on our land...), he went to them and was found the next morning by a very sad FiL dead (not the FiL...). We have one dog left, a big healthy fuker who will fight one on one, but is useless against snakes or local packs (he's just not the sort to mark his territory and fight to the death..). That was a couple of months ago.

We've been looking for the right dogs and cat. We got a local nutty feral female cat recently who is great. Now we have a couple of dogs - we've been told they are half bangkaow and will get big. The female is the white one and is very smart. They are around 2 months old.

^ A fuking killer! (Would last about 15 seconds in Nakhon Nowhere...).

Before you say the MiL is damn ugly... She was the best looking woman for many miles around back in her day:

    Back to the dogs...

^ I reckon she'll develop into a smart good dog.

Not so sure about the male:

Any thoughts on their providence/potential (no, not the MiL, I, unfortunately, have found that out for meself... ).

I think the history of these dogs is so mixed it's impossible to guess the provenance with any reliability but the white female does look a bit Bangkaowish.

Our first dogs in Thailand were brother and sister, so identical parentage and identical raising. The female has been the most wonderful dog I've ever had, a snake killer and straight on any unknown dogs that came anywhere near. She's also nailed a few cats that came into our garden. I've never encouraged that, but she's straight on them. And she's also also fantastic with our daughter. Her brother was a bit of a wooss. But he would at least bark at snakes despite standing back, which to be honest I prefer as I can deal with a snake, I just want to know it's there.

Both dogs are/were pets so I accepted them as they are. I think that with these mixed dogs it's pot luck which ones turn out really good. You can help by training, but only so much.

And once an alpha dog, like your last one, has gone past it's prime and becomes vulnerable, the other dogs will delight in getting their own back and repaying all those maulings. That's nature for working dogs that are maybe semi-pets. If the ex alpha accepts he's been dethroned and becomes subservient then all OK. If he doesn't and continues to punch above his weight then the pack will eventually nail him. I've seen that happen a couple of times.

I would swap my Mil for yours, by the way!

Yeah i want/need some cats on the property.
Unfortunately our main dog is No. 1 cat killer, snake killer, rat killer, anything that moves and is'nt a dog, killer.
Shame, i like cats and as mentioned, combined with dogs, can make a great team.
Need to be brought in together though.

    My best mate.

Half pit-bull and half bull mastiff.

Kills everything that dares to cross his boundary.

    Absolutely no fear.

Though I'd like to take credit for the clever jab, it goes to Jack Himselfoff
