Good to hear she is doing well.
I haven't seen any pit vipers up here. We mainly get cobra and krait in the garden.
Good news. Kids are a treasure and a trial.
It's a quiet night shift tonight and I found few old photos.
Maybe of interest... these are pics of a white-lipped green pit viper (the same species that bit my daughter) we took to the zoo a few years ago. I reckon that most of the green pit vipers at Korat zoo came from our garden, we've supplied at least five.
It's easy to see where the two fang marks in my young daughter's foot came from.
Incidentally, we usually do the exchange at the entrance to the zoo and this chap came along on his motorbike to pick the snake up, but of course hadn't thought to bring anything to put it in. We tried to get it in an empty plastic water bottle we found, but to no avail, so he departed riding his motorbike one-handed with the snake in the other hand.

There's quite a range of possible results :
"Results of bites from this species range from mild envenoming to death. The venom of white-lipped pit viper contains procoagulant properties. There have been numerous reported bites with few fatalities".
