My 1st post was "The fuck is a Michu Expander ? "....... my bad for not understanding dribble speak.

As to my comment on the Hilux/Fortuner, That is 100% accurate.

At the end of the day you can't beat a truck, why I have my Revo and will never be without a truck here and never was in the states. Just to universal and a must for anyone who owns a home or some land and work around it. In the second pic I have seen those bed covers and they can be removed if need be but again then you have to take it off and put it some where.

Ok, I've sent an email to Google telling them the information they've got from Toyota which BB posted is completely wrong. They'll be in touch shortly for your version and update that page .

Trying to think of any SUV's here that aren't based on a pick-up chassis. Can only come up with Captiva, and maybe Everest or is it just an SUV body dropped onto a pick-up chassis (Ranger) too?.

So what your saying is your calling my post bullshit without any proof.

How many hilux/Fortuners, Rangers/Everests etc etc have you stripped to nothing and modifed/upgraded ?

Actually its a bit misleading in that "built on the same platform" does not mean "built the same ". Basically the same platform is the same frame and a few other things ( engine, trans, etc). The Fortuner and the Hilux are actually quite different. Just go to a dealer and take a quick look underneath ( I did) and I have seen quite a few on the service racks. Don't get me wrong, numerous parts will interchange hence why I put the rear disc brakes on my Revo.

Basically from the gearbox crossmember forward they are the same how ever they do differ in torsional rigidity and stiffness.

Pretty much. And of course interior. All that aside, the Fortuner does have better road manners then the Hilux as I would expect. I still did not like the Fortuner over the Pajero Sport. Truck wise I wouldn't buy anything here but a Hilux. Just too good and reliable and the service is impeccable albeit they whinge a bit at the dealership because my truck is pretty modified and they hate dropping all the skid plates to service it and the first time they went to rotate the wheels and expected rear drum brakes and they had to think about it. I told them same spec as the Fortuner for pad thickness measurement process. After that they were all good.

Wife bought a diesel Fortuner two years ago and loves it. Reliable (thus far) and good mileage. Much better than our two old Honda CRV's.

I agree Davis. CRVs are way overrated and due to that overpriced. And while I have not owned one my wife knows a few that do, and the service is really not all that good.

I have seen Range Rovers here. I wouldn't buy one of those pieces of shit ever. I had a few friends in the states that had them. Spent more time in the shop then they drove them.

Plenty in Thailand, the company I used to work for was the main importer and had several dealerships.

Got a Toyota Hilux (Revo) pickup and a Pajero Sport. I preferred the earlier version of the Pajero, tbh. -Less fussy than with all the sensors, OTT features, and displays; more like driving an actual car than a helicopter.. And of course, "Pajero" is Spanish for "wanker", which was the deal-breaker for me.

When I worked in Saudi, lots of folks had them and I drove a few. Rough-riding pieces of crap in my opinion. I actually was surprised at how shitty they were - I expected much more for some reason. Rarely see any on the PI roads...

The pickup box frame is longer on the back end, fortuner is short.

Well after mulling it around and looking at all them, we have decided to plunk down the coin for the Mitsubishi PS. Price is fair, well appointed inside and out, great bumper to bumper warranty and the dealer went the extra mile on a bunch of extras(not by choice mind you my wife wore them down going round and round and on and on about it ).

One thing I like about buying vehicles here, You can put down a couple thousand baht and you can change your mind up to the last minute before pick up and only lose that deposit. In the states most car purchases are impulse with a lot full of cars, a pushy scamming dealer and you leave that day.

Next up comes the Buddha best day and time to stuff they all do here. I am like whatever....

They are the vehicle of choice here in Laos for cashed up hiso types. The fortuner is oh so yesterday. Wankers with more money than sense as far as im concerned. I bought my Fortuner here new in 2012 and was just goovling a buy n sell site to see what its worth. Im leaving Lao in january hate to sell it as its been a bloody good car. Apparently i am looking at getting anywhere between $30000 to about $33000. Which is fair enough.
