Just reading about the immigration hoops through which you poor bastards have to jump boggles the mind. LOS must have the worst immigration hassles anywhere.

Wife dropped by our immigration sub-station in the mall today and paid my annual $6.50 fee and got receipt. Total time on target...10 minutes. Good for another year.

I thought technically you could get a 90 day extension on a 30 day permission to stay stamp for 1900 baht

    Based on what purpose?

Based on tourism is usually 30 days.
Based on spouse/family is usually 60 days.

    Both are 1,900b.

Just talked with lawyer who arranged visa. Took awhile for him to get back to me. All I need is passport and maybe a fee for Cambodia visa. Not until I go back for 1 year renewal do I need anything else. It's stamped the 6th,not the fifth,so I'm good going tomorrow.

I wonder how much the useless lawyer charged him for saying he maybe needs money for the Cambo visa.

Nice to see you're ok, keep track of your exit dates and maybe start a thread on which Country to visit for your pending departure.
Book your flight early to get cheaper fares

    Quite easily.

Go to yer local immigration office and get annual extensions based on:

    spouse
    kids
    work
    retirement
    education

    1,900thb.

Spouse or kids: Show income of 40k p/m or 400k in a Thai bank.

Work: Take the legal document from the Ministry of Labor (to show that you're working here legally) to immigration. Simple.

Retirement: Over 50 yrs old. Income of 65k p/m or 800k in a Thai bank.

Education: Depends on the level of the facility. Best if studying full-time in a Thai university.

    1,900 baht for one year.

Send in a report to immigration every 90 days. Yer local motosai taxi lad can do it. Company secretary or gardener if you're working.

Do 90 day border runs really bother people? I did them for 10 years and were always a pleasure as in an excuse to go and see somewhere new. If on a tight budget a drive down to the Cambo border every 90 days is hardly a great hardship or expense.
