Shipping from Isaan to Western Australia

I need to move a few cubic metres of household things from Mahasarakham to Perth.
Whats the easiest way to do it ?
If I crate it can somebody collect it and do the rest ?

There should be a removals service in your area that will handle it for you just ask around locally
We have one that specializes in doing it on Phuket for the Phuket area

This company was the receiver of pallets of goods from Mayflower in the USA when my mom died. I have also shipped stuff home using them. I think they give a free quote. But it was 20 years ago... Have a look.

The biggest item is a king size mattress 2m long (yeah I know it seems dumb to ship it but they are very expensive in Oz and it's nearly new).
Couldnt find a steel workshop cupboard big enough to use as a crate so I'll have to get a steel box made from square tube and sheet.

Actually, a bed is usually possible to be disassembled as K/D (knocked down). If not prepared for that, it can be additionally modified for that purpose.

Anything what you will ship by sea-freight will be given in a container, so no need any extensive crating as was the case some 50 years ago. Either it is stuffed in export cartons (corrugated cardboard boxes 5ply properly rigid) or the larger pieces (furniture) just wrapped in a corrugated paper.

You can choose a shipping company that will provide also the proper packaging (if not by yourself) and all the export procedure including the sea-forwarding. And, if you wish, also the importation procedure at the same destination port with transport up to your place (after customs clearance).

For the shipping you can ask a container for yourself only (FCL20 - Full Container Load 20 ft), for that you do not need much worry about the packaging, whatever you place in the container will arrive up to your place without any interference.

For smaller shipping volume you will be charged by cbm rate plus some handling fee. The things properly packed and designated will be shipped as LCL (Less than Container Load), many more different goods inside one container (perhaps 40 ft) going to same destination as you, multiple reloading.

The shipping agency you nominate here in Thailand will provide for you a Packing List and an Invoice with some your declaration that all this is your personal belonging acquired more than 6 months (to be checked) ago.

Then for the arrival in Australia is a special procedure (unlike other countries): infestation problem of any wooden things arriving to Australia. For that complicated guidelines are to be followed (issued and updated every few months), to be carefully studied. Or a good shipping agency familiar with export to Australia can manage.

Thanks Klondyke. The frame can be pulled apart easily - the mattress, not so much.
The rest of the items apart from another timber bed / table are pretty small so I won't be needing a 6m or 12m container.
If I could find a company that could supply export cartons I could avoid having a crate made but it's not so easy in Thailand, even with a smart Thai wife that speaks good English.

Similarly, finding a decent house builder, a real estate company to handle a rental house etc etc isn't so easy either ....

I'm off to Phuket and then Trat / Koh Kood for a week so I'll resume the hunt for a forwarding company when I'm back in Mahasarakham.

^In every province city you can find shipping agencies (or asking at the local commercial dept). Or searching by Internet. Or when in Phuket you can find many of them.
