Annual free sterilisation and rabies vaccination program, 14-15 March.
Limited to dogs and cats, not for expats who may benefit from both.
I missed this before. Unless I am mistaken the Thai reads Rabbit Sushi.
The case of the disappearing canines
Thairath 11 March 2024
Villagers in Ban Chang, Muang District, Rayong Province, said that about 40 pet dogs and stray dogs have disappeared from the area since construction workers' camps were built in the area in the past month.
Signs are posted throughout the village, "Beware of people who eat dogs - dogs are not food."
Villagers want the company in charge of the workers' camp to investigate the matter because they are afraid to leave their pet dogs alone for fear of being eaten and have gathered together to put up signs throughout the village.
Well, their pets shouldn’t be left alone outside anyway…
No reason dogs should not be food, all animals are equal, there is no difference between domesticated and livestock. If people can eat a pig why not a dog?
^ Because the dog doesn’t belong to them in this case.
Chanthaburi 24 March 2024
The Tha Mai District Livestock Office has been informed by Chanthaburi Province that the Khao Khitchakut District Livestock Office and Pong Nam Ron District Livestock Offices have announced the temporary designation of an epidemic zone under the Animal Epidemic Diseases Act B.E. 2558 (2015)'
Rabies has occurred, a deadly epidemic that can be transmitted between humans and animals, in the area of Moo 3, Ban Noen Mahaad, Chak Thai Subdistrict, Khao Khitchakut District, Chanthaburi Province and Moo 5, Ban Khao Hom, Pong Nam Ron, Chanthaburi Province
In order to prevent such epidemics, we would like to remind the public to be vigilant and bring pets such as dogs and cats to get vaccinated against rabies and avoid contact with stray dogs.
If bitten by a scratched dog, immediately wash the wound with soapy clean water and see a doctor immediately.
The wife was watching the usual evening royal gossip/news tonight, princess what'shername that's often in a wheelchair was at some animal welfare conference and caught my attention by speaking English saying there are 3 million dogs in Thailand and 2 million of them are strays. "Is that all" was my reaction ...I'm sure I've had half of them chasing me on my bike !
Fuckin’ strays! My little puppy and I were attacked on the beach this morning by strays. Or maybe not strays, since when I walked back down to take a photo of the pack, they were gone. My little doggie, which was on a leash, was tossed into the air and I snatched her back from the dogs. Luckily only scratched and shaken.

Security takes a break this morning at Cafe Amazon, PTT Khao Wua
Does anyone else have a Thai born dog who likes to play fetch?
Yes. First one that does. Loves it. Drives me nuts wanting to play fetch. All the other Thai born dogs were no fetchers.
Puppy at 9 months old. Baby face gone.
She. She is having to wear a doggie sanitary napkin now. Her neutering was scheduled this week but this happened. Woe is me. Putting nappies on a dog sucks.
