Bangkeows are the best. My 13 year old bangkeow was left behind at my brother’s place in the US. I miss him but he was better off not making the long haul flight being so old. He’s all good with my brother in the country where he can chase deer and dig armadillos.

    Is it the season?

Local community Facebook littered with pups to give away, and numerous notices of abandoned pups; I'd seen one group of eight very small pups left roadside near the sea when i was out biking, think someone has since picked them up.

A new 7-11 on the town fringe has attracted a nice round number of ten dogs from the surrounding rural area who've decided food options are far better there than rural roadside . . . causing issues for shoppers as they all hang around the shop doorway and the usual foodcarts in the carpark. Complaints made to local authorities who may round them up since it's affecting business.

There's an animal shelter about 6km from town - Malee's Animals Shelter - approx 350-400 dogs and 40-60 cats, supported by volunteers (local and overseas visitors) and donations; it was started by a now-deceased farang, currently run by his wife and her family. Recently received support in form of 1,000kg of dry dog food & 1,200kg rice donated by sponsors Club Insomnia Pattaya and MYST Club Pattaya

Nice idea and the best of intentions, but unsustainable eventually.

Life was miserable without a dog companion. I went out and BOUGHT another. A first as I have always taken in homeless dogs.

OMG. I’ve not had a puppy for 50 years. Too much energy!

Your troubles are only just beginning if it behaves the way mine does. Good luck.

There's an animal shelter about 6km from town - Malee's Animals Shelter - approx 350-400 dogs...
That was quick - from complaints on community Facebook page earlier in the week, by yesterday / Friday all ten dogs have been caught - saw a 2sq m cage set-up, and guessing they've gone for neutering and off to Malee's shelter.

Saw this in Phuket Express appears to be a Phuket-only initiative.

Doing some baking this morning, so dogs not allowed in the kitchen. The two pit bulls lying at the gate, watched over by Bruce the 12 year old long haired cat (just had a haircut hence the appropriate jacket).

    The dog's name is Lilette

I am not sure if this is in honour of the female sanitary product or if that is a legitimate female name dans la belle France

Alsatian and some sort of terrier. Yes, they live with the Kingwilly’s. Miss 13 claims them as hers and fare dues she feeds them everyday, walks them most, brushes them and plays with them. So I guess I just pay for food and vet bills and she ‘owns’ them.

We adopted them from a family who left for Ireland and discovered that importing ‘dangerous breeds’ into Ireland is prohibited which precluded the Alsatian who is 7 years old. The smaller terrier is 14 years old and they felt too old to fly and do quarantine anymore so we took in both.

    Our attack puppy.

Not sure of the breed, but it's very hoppy, and not in an IPA way.
