Yes, it sounds harsh I know but when one actually goes to a country where things work and the people can sort out stuff with fokin killing each other over small issues it bangs home just how retarded and backward Thailand really is.

Saying that though, I love being amoungst these mad arsed fuk ups.

The real world is just so boring.

4 weeks is quite enough thank you.

Even Tax, as I understand it, is preparing to quit his palliative care home in Hua Hin for the delights of Keighley so no one is immune, it seems.

    Tempus fugit.

The Russians, Indians, Chinese, Iranian, Turkish and ASEAN folk are the demographic now. In ten years or so I doubt very much one will find any British/Cod Irish style pubs in Pattaya to speak of.

I was in the Sportsman t'other week having a late breakfast and I reckon the average age of the punters present, all British, was around the 55-65 range.

    Quite depressing really.
Only depressing if you engage in conversation with most of them. Furious if you sit in their regular seat . Very good breakfast to be had there though.

Works out nicely for you. Get to see the splendid flowers of spring, the long summer evenings, and the beautiful brown leaves of autumn, and miss the 7 months of heat then rain here.

Everything is relative, and once one has experienced congestion in any part of Bangkok, then anything you might experience in Pattaya pales into utter fucking insignificance.

And if seizing on the example of Soi Khaotalo, "on market day", isn't fucking cherry picking then what the fuck is, you silly old frazzled foozler.

    Idiot.

It's only got worse- I feel sorry for the people living in that nice estate on the top of the hill (views over Pattaya!), unless they have another way out. Gent probably lives down in the ghetto area, which is why he needs to defend it.

Yes, but who on earth goes there?

As far as I am aware it is a venue now for cheap Chinese hotels and impoverished ex-council house British oik types and their weird Kraut counterparts. Can't really say for sure though since I don't think that is a part of Pattaya I have ever seen, knowingly.

Why on earth were you there?

You really shouldn't make pronouncements using your own unique personal experiences as a prism. We're not really interested in your ghastly little sordid life and if we were we would all probably watch something by Attenborough or National Geo for our fix of the animal kingdom.
