Sadly, MrsBoo's Grandad Made it onto TV Today...

Wasn't sure whether to post this, but it was on the news...

No condolences required; I never met the fella. Sad way to go though; and, do you think they stopped? Not a chance - TiT.

When's the legalization of yabba coming in?

So neither the pick-up driver nor the old man could see each other until it was too late? The old man looked left but then kept walking before eventually running (presumably to escape the oncoming vehicle). What time did it happen, Betty?

Gosh, that's horrible. Even if you didn't know him. He's still family.

^ yeah, it is horrible, and I do feel sad; especially for the missus and her mother.

He was around the house earlier this week, quite a fit gent (not sure about his eye sight... ).

Condolences anyway. Your missus grandad passed away in a tragic and very public manner. You will have to deal with the effects on your missus at the very least.

But, it's just Thailand, isn't it?

You almost become immune to it, the regularity of avoidable death and violence. It just reverberates a bit more when it's closer because people are real.

Firstly, condolences for your wife who must be grieving. More so after seeing that video and as we can all see, it was yet another needless and avoidable death.

I cannot understand how he looked at where the car was coming from, absolutely and positively must have seen and heard it, then about 4 seconds later he's under it. The car didn't seem to be traveling at light speed, so it could only have been ≤ 100 yards away when he looked at it and decided he could get across the road before it hit him. Basic trigonometry and common sense isn't a strong point of Thai's though is it, even when their lives depend on it...

Yes it is. And what it would take to get these people out of accepting avoidable road carnage as a daily event and "not think to much" about it won't be happening in our life time.

Betty was not looking for sympathy, however showing respect is another matter.

You are well out of order.

Gruesome for family to watch but for him better than wasting away in hospital with a terminal illness. When I go hope will be much the same.
