I was out and about this weekend with the wife ranging from a quick stop a Big C, the Mall and a few local places for lunch and snacks. The more this country becomes westernized the more all the riff raff increases. On the road I saw people on Scooters flipping each other off and clearing say "Fuck You in English. I also saw groups of kids hanging out smoking cigs dresssed like US ghetto kids do. At the Mall my wife and I decided to take in a movie. Of course like all movie locations it was loaded with kids and adults. What struck me funny was how many Thai Teenagers I saw wearing baseball caps that had the word "Fuck", "Shit" "Bitch" on them in some form and T shirts with cheap slogans from the west on them. I am not sure many even know what it means.

Sad in many regards. With all the good some western countries can add, along with it comes all the bad.

It's the Access to hard core sex that's the worry though, very young people seeing some very perverted shit that's freely available.

I've been riding around Thailand for 9-10 years (probably 300-400k km or so) and can't recall seeing that happen. Maybe a few nasty stares if someone almost causes another to crash or something.

I can recall a few occasions when I've gotten off my bike in Bangkok - outside a 7-11 and in a gas station, and had some nasty-wasty name calling shouted out by a few teen boys in Thai. But they're just jealous of me, my bike and my life, and looking to be the big man in front of their boys shouting out shit to a farang. Wouldn't think too much of it.

Yeah it was my first time too. They cut cars to get to the light then 2 of them started saying shit to each other. Wasn't directed at me, They didn't even see me. They were right in front of my truck. Then came the middle finger to the other one and I could clearly read their lips. My wife said "See, who says Thais can't speak English". I bust out laughing.

Many years ago I saw films like that. As a genuine animal lover myself and a person who would use violence to protect his own animals from abuse of any kind, I am pleased to say that this stuff is rightly outlawed in the UK and put into the same category as child pornography. Possession of it is now punished by imprisonment and anyone who wishes to see it should think twice. Curiosity might just land you in jail.
