Just call me Slapella and be done with it...

Sadly, you are probably right. My Uni chick days are long gone, and a good sandwich is for ever.
    Mine isn't, almost anyway.

My brother has told me stories of white chocolate Lion bars, at least 8 different flavours of Lucozade, a shower gel made by a firm called Original Source that produce a mint and tree tea gel that makes your balls tingle when used and that Stella now make a cider called CIDRE.

C'mon Slap, does the U.K really sell this stuff?
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

I can confirm that the aforementioned is all true, Bogie - and not only white chocolate lion bars either... Bogie, they've got peanut butter flavour - and they are just magnificent.

Reese's bars are available in 7-11s in Thailand and are a great alternative to Lion bars (actually better, IMHO).

yeah. I know. But sandwiches was kind of a low blow. They do make good sarnies in UK.

    OK. We still got this:

I was at facebook today and not only do they do sarnies that put the best sarnies in the uk to shame.... but it looks like they have employed this lass and a few of her mates on the staff too.

Foodland make half decent sandwiches at decent prices.

In the UK there seems to be a craze for eating chilled packaged sandwiches for lunch that were prepared by mostly east europeans working for less than the miniimum wage, it was on Ch4 last year.

Stupid thing is that these plebs eating such crap pay almost 4 a pack

Sandwiches should be made fresh, eaten fresh.
No sandwich should go near a fridge.

Come on UK sandwich companies, get yer house in order

True enough, there does seem to be a plague of Prets, the Greggs for soft southerners. There are still plenty of proper sandwich shops around though.

Though I notice you went to an Irish website for your pic
They're displayed beside the Lion Bars in UK newsagents now. How things have changed from the days when Hershies and Twinkies were unobtainable wonders advertised on the back cover of imported Spiderman comics

When I wuz a young lad in Dorset, we used to visit some rellies in Somerset who ran the local pub in Zeals. 'Twas a highlight, those visits, as I would get this - a proper treat on a Saturday night ...

This sounds like a distant and magical Shangri-La type of place that I can only dream of.. I am filled with wonder and longing at the mere mention of the words "white chocolate" and "Lion Bar".

I broke a tooth on a Lion Bar in 1996.
It started a chain reaction of dental events that still bothers me today.

Peanut butter and white chocolate chunky kit kats also rate high on the confectionary list.

And you'd probably forgotten about caramac.

I need to know if the British pub regulars have solved important EU referendum questions like the Eurovision song contest and the Fench promise to fill in le tunnel if we leave.
