    Ham radio in Thailaned

Are there any other hams here?

Looking to set up my shack and wondering about purchasing radio equipment here; tuners, amps, etc.

    Thanks!

That’d be great. Hope to hear from him.

There’s a GSimon Radio in Bangkok that I’ve been to. Would it be the same fellow do you know? Great place, really nice people, but they’re primarily a new equipment dealer.

    Are you a ham too?

    Thanks!

No I'm not into Ham but Simon definitely is. He's an online science teacher who knows all the Ham rules and regulations and whatnot of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar where he's lived in the last few years. I don't even know what country he's living in right now but again, hopefully he'll see your thread and reply.

He is living on Koh Phan Gan, I believe. Well, that was a week or so ago and could change according to which way the wind might blow.

Er, Google is your friend, is it not and what about contacting RAST?

Or are you just looking to make friends.

Did you fly 747's? What carrier?

Flew 747 Classics for Las Vegas Sands Corp. Flew the 747-400 for Singapore Airlines and my last flying job at Western Global Airlines. 14 years in the 747 and 26 years in the Lockheed L-1011.

The L-1011 parked at Chic Chic Market in Nong Khai is my old airplane. Belonged to Las Vegas Sands and I was with it from Day 1. It was declared a total loss in the Don Mueang flooding of 2011.

Sorry, missed this thread 'cos I hang about in the lounge I've got an email from Mark and replied.

I'm still on Koh Phangan this week, hope not to move again until I retire (this island is definitely laid back, clean air, clean sea etc).

The L-1011 that is currently displayed in the Chic Chic Market in Nong Khai is the former Las Vegas Sands L-1011. I was with that airplane from its first day at Kas Vegas Sands. It was deemed beyond economical repair when it was caught in the flooding at Don Mueang in 2011.
