Fire escape ladders or any other good way to survive fire ?

    Hello,

Do you know where to buy fire escape ladders in Thailand ?

    Any website ?

I find myself so stupid to live in high floor and not having a cheap survival tool.

    Any other idea ?

    Thank you.

Shouldn't that be meters in 'Specification' (Length)?

^ Yep. Either that or hope the OP is a midget living in a midget condo or a doll's house.

    I assume they mean meters.

Personally I would go for a rope and an abseiling harness.

    Thank you so much.

Ridiculous to even imagine using a rope from 15 floors except if you are use to climb.

2 ladders of this type can be a good start to escape the shiiitee.

    Thanks again.

15 floors. 3.3 m per story. 50 meters there or there about. You'd best be working out a brilliant way to hook the second ladded onto the bottom of the top one. These things are not the most stable in the world. Also, might be an idea to practice the technique as well if you have not tried them before. Don't want to learn in the middle of a raining windy night with flames belching out all around you.

Not being funny, but if you are that worried about it, rappelling / abseiling is the fastest way down (well, aside from the cu-nt struck loser way down making a pavement pizza). Also the safest. Those ladders are easy to slip and fall from, where as a climbers rope, step into the harness, loop the rope through the figure of eight through, oven glove, step out of window and you will be down safely in about 5 seconds, or 10 seconds if you go slowly. Fun to learn if nothing else. I've never lived in a tower block, but if I did, it would be a simple set up that I would use. Less chance of being half way down and 20 somchais suddenly appearing, climbing down past you either breaking it or knocking you off for them to get to safety.

Anyway - I will keep digging in Thai and try and find a longer one if you like?

    Concrete doesn't burn.

Make sure the sprinkler systems are working.

4 fires in my condo in last 2 years.

Put out within 5 minutes each time by the sprinklers.

After that, just a clean up job.

Cheap plastic and wood fixtures and fittings do though and as he has to go past 14 stories of condo's stuffed full of junk...

It's not fucking complex, sprinklers are put in buildings to put out fires.

So how did you have 4 fires in "your" condo? Chip pan fires? Drunk or something? Heroin? What is it? Hardly normal for a bloke to set fire to his pad 4 fucking times in 2 years.

You burnt down your condo building 4 times? They let you stay there still? FFS are they mad? What you got in there - a meth lab or something? Smelting down the last kilos of the Nazi gold or something? Safe to say your deposit might be lost by now....

Well that's a spot of luck. Party at your place then.

Anyway, back on topic, can not find a 50m long escape ladder, so it looks like the OP will need to rely on the sprinklers, and hope to dear god he has not just moved into the same condo as the Bangkok Burner (Dapper to his mates).

Ladders like post 3 might be OK, but if the lower floors are already on fire, and your ladder is setup to pass the open balcony's etc, there is good chance you will not make it passed without getting burnt.

Remember seeing kits for escaping fires, bag with a belt and ropes just like they use for indoor rock climbing.
They have a built in braking system so you fall at a fixed speed.

Goodness - I would have thought that was quite a lot even in a whole condo complex.

As it says in big letters. best bet is to plan and rehearse your escape route.

I think the fire escape regulation have been in place for many year's. The condo's I stay in are oldish, but every floor has escape stairwells at either end, those with out would have to be very old, JMO
