What visa do you have? You cannot register a bike or a car in your name if you only have a tourist visa.

I assume that I need to go to a major city (Udon or Khon Kaen) to find a Yamaha shop that will take my card.

Handing over 92,000 baht in cash is so primitive.

I don't need anything faster than that. I tried going 90kph earlier in my rented wave and didn't enjoy it because of all the hazards.

i'm also middle age but have always liked the racing position

the ninja i just bought is far more upright than i had expected

    i nearly went for a beneli 300 (120,000)
they were much cheaper and a lovely looking bike but the riding position is a bit upright for my liking

I looked at a beneli but everything felt old fashioned. A brand new bike but the clutch and brakes felt ten years old to use.

150cc is enough speed for me and much better fuel economy. I've got used to my 5000 mpg (not really) wave. 70 baht to fill which lasts a few days.
