    Are Thais generally disorganized

I live with two Thai people who almost never put an item back where they took it from. I have repeatedly asked that they do this but they do not acquiesce to my requests. Is this a common trait of Thais?

Probably means they have no respect for you, and don't care what you say.

    Choose your roommates better.

can you change them ? no

Yes, they lack any organisational skills.

Things in the kitchen, tools around the garden, pens and pencils... Say anything about it and lots of agreement. Next time, same again!

Yes, it's a Thai trait. Would never happen with anyone else.

It is an exceedingly common trait of the Thai, and ubiquitous among my Thai family. Or is it just Isaan?

I think so. My wife's brothers and sisters constantly borrow things and forget to return them. They leave things where they use them, never returning them to where they belong. When I call them out they tell me I am mean.

There is an art to calling out Thais, as an individual or collective, without offering the usual lost face or imploding their shallow sensitivities...

If you're not clued in, observe how they challenge, criticize, or call each other out.
Involves lotsa twisted rhetoric and manipulating mind games....most of which Farang don't have the ability to comprehend.....the underhanded and slight deviance of the interaction.

Once you've mastered the art of all this, you've mastered the game - whether they recognize such or not.

More to do with education levels. Some farm girl with a year 8 education isnt going to be organised like a worldly educated person. Nothing to do with race.
