Unless you get a very good discount, then why bother? They could renege and kick you out to rent to someone else, and all sorts ..... it could happen. Doubtful, but they could. When I was in Bangkok I hammered the monthly rate of the house I was in down by 40% on a 2 year contract. After 18 months, the landlord starting putting the pressure on to renew at a higher rate or declare I was going which in all honesty I had not decided upon. He then started bringing around people to view the house with little notice, sometimes none, and generally being a complete dick so the last 6 months was a pain in the arse. However, he never kicked us out...
