I was out knocking down Mot Dang nests in our Lumyai trees this afternoon and one of the 3 Bearded Dragons lizards that have staked claims was out in full color pumping his head. I think he was upset I was messin with his food supply. No worries, We have mot Dang everywhere...It will not go short food.

Anyway it let me get close to it today. Usually it moves around on the 180 side of the tree to keep his distance. I have another in a Mango tree that has a bright Yellow head. The 3rd one has a blue head as well.

Happen to be out today and came across this insect. Appears to be from the Cicada family. Its thorax under the black wings is a bright orange as well.

This is an Indonesian Ground Squirrel not particularly uncommon in Thailand and quite widespread I have seen them from farmland to deep in the forests.

Brilliant thread this, a fantastic legacy to Birding.

Snapped these snails at the weekend, would have needed a crow bar to separate them...

Saw this big lad (around 2m long) out walking last week. Never moved a muscle, even the dogs didn't sense him.

Was walking around the garden an hour ago and came across this golden tree snake by the chicken run. These I have no problem with and they are providing a valuable service!

It's times like this I wish I had a proper camera.

And last but not least... it was nice to see my young daughter hasn't developed any kind of phobia since her recent escapade with the white-lipped green pit viper...

    And finally...

The snake has a problem now. It lives in the hollow metal 4 by 2 above the drain pipe, but it's now too fat to get through the chicken mesh to go home. I have my problems, but at least I can fit through the back door.

It does look like a pigeon from afar

A couple of eagles came over after that and started circling and then 3 crows chased them away. Must have a nest there.Interesting viewing.
I have a camera trap now to see what wildlife comes out at night around here.

Any suggestions on what bait to put ot?

Give the kid some education, get her to research it, then do it together as a science project.

There are 4 of these big monitor lizards that cruise up and down the creek every morning where I walk along. Saw one the other day woofing down a turtle. All 4 or easily 2 meters long and probably pushing 25kgs each.

    1. Don't let them bite you, you'll die a slow and agonising death, or is that Komodo Dragons

    2. Are you picking up litter of your morning sojourn?
