Okay, a bit late but here are a few 'zoomers' from my library....

    Frog sunbathing indoors

    Heterometrus laoticus. Painful sting...

    Dragonfly resting on Plumeria.

A dead one, but beautiful dropshadow.

Small black ants claiming half a coconut.

    Lizard warming up

and another one in full war colors, defending his territory

Chrysocoris stolli bugs, only found on Jatropha plants (in my garden).

    Displaying a funny face/mask.

Dead moth. No idea which specie.

Nice red beetle. Probably a Harlequin beetle, or family...

Baby Python reticulatus emerging from its soft eggshell.

Half an hour there's 7 of them, 65 cm. long and ready for the big nasty world.

A swarm of Lohita grandis beetles popping up from under a tree trunk.

Roadkill. Owl or other predatory bird.

    Haplopelma minax, the black tarantula.

Grassopper thingy attracted by the light.

    Big toad and his/her mansion.

Nasty caterpillar-like creatures with a painful reaction when touched. Never known what they turn into.

Same genera, different specie, I think.

    Pyrops candelaria, a lantern bug.

A shiny green grasshopper enjoying the canvas.

Xylotrupes gideon, the ultimate fighting machine for many Thai.

    Teasing a gecko.

    Another one, suicide...

A shield backed bug, also exclusively found on the Jatropha plants.

Nice pattern on this butterfly's wings.

Four-eyed snake or four-eyed frog, haven't decided yet...

    Changed to one size bigger.

Male Nectarinia jugularis (a.k.a. Withnallstoke's bird) enjoying the sprinkler system.

Nice thread Charley, cant green ya atm.

Got a few pics to add to this of various UK wildlife when it's not 1 in the morning and I'm not drunk on Glenfiddich and stoned on high grade skunk!

Subbed and I'll get back to it with some piccies.

Edit: Amazing shots Gypsy, particularly like the "Teasing the Gecko" one.

I am trying to trap an Armadillo (fat chance) who has a hole dug under the house via the new patio. I trapped an angry Opossum which we later freed about a mile away from the home.

Some early morning guests who will steal all the corn before any other animals get there.

edit: The owl came to visit us a couple times this afternoon

These Whistling ducks arrived (for the first time) about 4 weeks ago (anywhere between 50 to 200). They were still resting when I left the property yesterday.

When I go back towards the beginning of next week, I’ll try to get some in flight. They’ll get into groups of about 25 and start to do low flying circles and whistle.

This picture taken from the net (in flight):

The ducks were awake when we passed by today and we moved close enough to them to make them fly. The picture is not that clear and I didn’t want to harass them too much so I only took a few pictures.

A bit difficult for me to get these shots as they are quite a shy bird.

This will be the last set of pictures for this trip back home and next year I’ll make a concerted effort to go out and look for the harder to find creatures that will occasionally visit us.

During the past few weeks we’ve had a couple different set of friends visiting and one (one of the girlfriends girlfriends visiting from Europe) wanted to see some cattle and along the way we saw,..

Quail (spring is/was in the air)

    Kite (female)

And another rabbit, but this one is full grown.

And of course some cattle. This one bull was looking for greener pasture (was really looking for a different set of females than the ones he was set up with) and was caught in one of the main roadways.

    While sitting in the patio,…….

    A young Buck

    Young turkey’s (spring time)

A gift (four young ones) from the armadillo I’m still trying to catch.

A couple of weeks ago we opened the guesthouse up and the girlfriend took some pictures of some other animals that are found on the property and next year I’ll try to get some pictures of them,.but living. The guests we had out did tell us they saw a bobcat next to one of the ponds.

    Bobcat

    Coyote/s

These next couple of pictures I grabbed from the net and will try to get pictures of them also.

Gopher turtle (protected and way too many of them here)

Indigo (protected snake). Beautiful snake and I’ve seen two out on the property before, but one was under my tracks (not a good place to be).

I was able to find an old picture; of a Fox, from the neighborhood in Miami.
