    Thailand Post. 5 Stars.

The Thai postal system I'd think must be the best in the world. Never had a problem with them, always fast and efficient, and cheap on top of it.

Through the years I've sent many parcels all over the world from here, never one lost, never a problem on this side. Always fully trackable and fast.

Same with parcels I've received. Once they land at Suvarnabhumi they arrive here without delays.

Sometimes I wait up to 7 weeks for parcels from places like HK and China, generally 3 weeks, if I'm lucky 2 weeks. Ave time to leave source country 10 to 15 days.

I recently sent a parcel to HK registered airmail, no special courier, delivered in 4 days.

    Well done Thailand. Respect.

    And thank you.

I agree - they've been pretty good to me.

I had a parcel from the UK not arrive once, but it's just as likely to be nicked before it even left the UK.

A friend used my address to have something sent over from Germany just before Christmas - it didn't arrive, but again, I don;t know where the blame lies.

I also agree. I've used the Thai postal service lots, the missus had a business based on her sending packages all over - always an excellent and cheap service.

Faultless for larger items - have sent motorbike, 2 x mountainbikes, 7 large cartons when we relocated, all arrived ahead of time from what we'd been told when sending (week before Songkran and expected them to arrive the week after but no, maybe they had an extra effort to clear freight) top marks for that.

But for smaller items within Thailand - less fortunate.
We've decided sealed envelopes, and the Thai Post padded envelopes (may contain gift!) simply disappear. Suspect it is the last link in the chain - the man who is meant to deliver.
Similar with items I've sent overseas - a postcard to niece/nephew gets there OK, but a birthday card in sealed envelope, no.

Use to lose a lot of stuff years ago when living in the village but last many years in Khon Kaen has been good, haven't been held to ransoms by customs for awhile, a few of the last big items I bought on e bay i paid the import tax on e bay. Nice and easy

But they do not accept bottles in parcels it seems, and even though the post accepts sometimes the Xray machine at airport catch them and the parcel is returned.

How to hide a bottle in a parcel that I want to send abroad ?

Pour it into a plastic bottle or wrap it in bubble wrap and label it origami

Just last month I posted 1kg bags of green curry paste and piken chile paste along with bottled soy and oyster sauces to my daughter in Australia....by air mail...the slowish form, but still by air, and it was no problem.

Woman in the PO even packaged it all for me, tried to tell her I could do it but she insisted...Arrived safe and sound it did well within the time frame. No indication the contents could be a problem.

12 years and never a gripe with the post here, Very efficient...

Flying myself soon and have those same bottles ready to pack for the holdall luggage..is it alright?

Posted over 700 small parcels to customers all over the world over the last 12 months, both registered and unregistered. Only 2 lost in all that time, one at Suvarnabhumi and the other somewhere in the USA. Pretty good service.

Just a tip if you're using registered mail with a tracking number to the USA.
The Thailand Post tracking site does not track parcels in the USA. The tracking stops at Suvarnabhumi airport. To track your item through the USA you can use your Thai tracking number on the USPS mail tracking site right to your destination.

The Thai tracking number works fine for most of Europe and Japan.

Fastest deliveries I've had are 4 days....to Sweden and Hawaii

you are an idiot. Tons of stuff is shipped via air everyday, and you can carry liquor or liquids in your checked luggage. In fact you can carry on duty free.

Holy crap, Normally very good but Mrs has lost 2 parcels to Korat since Christmas. No idea why or where. Canada post is very expensive.

We did post here Honda Shadow from Phuket to Korat along with a bunch of boxes for less than a night on the beer over here.

What is the average delivery time for a small parcel to the UK / Western Europe from Thailand then? A week?

    That's a rip off.

    Next time tell them:

    2: "Registered"

About 16 years ago, I sent a card to my former Thai GF, with a $100 bill tucked inside. She got the card, minus the cash.

2 years ago, I sent a Christmas card to my youngest daughter and included a 500 baht note inside. She got the card, minus the cash.

This past February, we sent a birthday card to my niece (here in the USA) from Thailand. My brother thought it would be cool if she got one from Thailand. It has yet to show up at his house in California.

My sister wants the address for our new house in Nakhom Pathom, so she can send something to my wife. I told her not to send anything of value using the Post System. If it's valuable, send it by Fed-Ex or similar (or send it to me to carry over to Thailand).

Personally, unless it's a post card, I don't trust the Thai Post.

    Sorry.

    Steve

    Lying again Fluke?
All US domestic flights as well as most international flights not just in and out of the United States now restrict large bottles (more than 3 fl oz) from being taken in carry-on luggage into the cabin. As a result, with the exception of identified medications, any amount of liquid greater than three ounces must be packed in your checked baggage.
