    House and garden.

Please bear with me, this is going to be a long thread and could be of assistance to others about to build their 'dream home' here in Thailand.
We decided to move out of Cha-am in January 2010 and settled into a village a couple of miles out of town.
A few pictures of the place just after we bought it.

Here's my first tip. Never plant these as a hedge...

A couple of months later, I decided to have a seperate 'guest room' built for friends etc... Had it built in the same design as the house, little did I know that the roof was going to cost a small fortune!

Beautiful they are but the rats, and cockroaches of the plant world. Go everywhere and grow so freaking fast. There is a way, but it will cost ya.

Keep it coming, I am about to put up a thread on how fast stuff grows.

Nothing wrong with Bouganvillea, just never, never take it out of a pot.
Once in the ground, all it wants to do is grow more branches and leaves and a lot less energy goes into producing flowers.

Looking good so far charley, keep it coming!

Personally, I like the thorny, flowering stuff. But you need serious gloves to prune it.

Hope it's nothing too tragic. That's a gorgeous little plot you have there and a cracking house.

    ^ You're very impatient Benny!

In Petchaburi, Cha-am to be precise, we seem to be without rain for the best part of the year, then there's the added bonus of having the water turned off every now and then.
We've got about 1200 sq m. That's OK if you're a keen gardener, or is it?
I've asked everywhere for 'weed and feed'. Can't find it anywhere.

    So, eventually this happens!

Ther must be over tweny different types of weed that managed to penetrate the grass, eventually it all became too much.

And don't get me onto 'clover'...Looks good from a distance, but when it dries up and appears to die, the lawn looks like patchwork.

So again, I had to decide what to do. Hard work entailed!

Out with the edging. It will come in handy later on.
